Sore Throat Home Remedies to Stop Scratchy Throats!

Looking for a sore throat remedy? You’ve come to the right place. Winter is the time of year when sore throats seem to be a part of our daily life. The weather changes from fall weather to frigid cold conditions, and what happens? We get a sore throat. My favorite is heading to work feeling fine, but coming home sick. That’s when I move into action fast.

Sore throat remedies can be the cheapest way to feel better fast. Not only are these my favorites, but these remedies are ones I use every day with my family. Almost as soon as I hear someone say they have a sore throat, it’s time for one of mom’s remedies.

Sore Throat Remedies: Sore Throat Brew
What you need: Apple Cider Vinegar (1 tsp.), Lemon (1 tsp.), Herbal Tea (Chamomile), and Honey (1 tsp.)
Directions: The purpose of sore throat remedies is not only to give instant throat relief but also soothe the throat, and help it heal. This mixture is awesome at doing all of those things. I like to boil water first. Then add your tea bag, the vinegar, lemon, and honey. Now let this sit for around five minutes.

If you are a big tea drinker like me, you probably have a large tea pot that holds up to 8 cups of tea. I make this in the morning, and my tea stays got all day. If you have something like this, make your sore throat brew right in the big tea pot. The relief your throat will feel from this home remedy is amazing!

Also, if you aren’t a lemon drinker, just add less lemon juice.

Sore Throat Remedies: Garlic & Chicken Noodle Soup
What you need: Garlic
Directions: Garlic is an amazing healer. I’ve heard of people eating garlic straight, but I can’t imagine doing it. Chop it up and add it however you like. Blend it into something for certain!
When I feel like my family is getting a sore throat, I pull out the big guns: Chicken Noodle Soup with Garlic. There is no better way to feel better than eating a nice homemade bowl of Chicken Noodle Soup. My recipe follows, but you could take can soup and add some garlic to this. Let it simmer.

Chicken Noodle Soup recipe: Boiled Chicken, 4-5 Chopped Cloves of Garlic, 1 C. Chopped Celery, 1 c. Chopped Carrots, ¼ c. Chopped onion, 1 Box Chopped Noodles and Seasonings. Break up the chicken and put into the chicken broth. Add all the other ingredients and simmer for up to an hour. AMAZING!

Sore Throat Remedies: Honey & Cinnamon
What you need: Spoon, Honey, and Cinnamon
Directions: Sometimes home remedies can really be so easy. This is an extremely easy sore throat remedy that has instant results. Take a small bowl. Mix 1-3 teaspoons of honey with a teaspoon of cinnamon. Mix this thoroughly. Now take a teaspoon of the mixture and eat this. Let the honey glide down your throat. Believe me, this is a kid approved sore throat remedy!
