Smashbox Eye Shadow Trio – Product Review

I first discovered Smashbox Eye Shadow Trio when my daughter purchased it on a shopping trip with her friends. When she brought it home, she put all three eye shadows on and the combination looked spectacular on her. I loved how all three blended well on her. I wanted to try an eye shadow from the Smashbox line, but the color combination in her Smashbox Eye Shadow Trio were a little to shimmery and glittery for me and my age. I made a mental note to purchase this product in a more subtle color scheme the next time I was at the store.

Sure enough, my mind didn’t fail me the next time I went to Sephora. I remembered that I wanted to buy a Smashbox Eye Shadow Trio, since I liked how my daughter’s eyes looked when she wore it. As I looked through the many color combinations that were available, I finally settled on the On Stage color trio which included the colors of Luminous Gold, Matte Russett Brown and matte Beige. I prefer matte finish eye shadows because the shimmery ones tend to get into the creases of my eye, and make them look older than they are.

The first thing that I noticed when I used my Smashbox Eye Shadow Trio, was how very smooth these eye shadows glided on my eyelids. The combination of the three colors blended perfectly and they complimented one another. The color combinations also compliment the color of my eyes.

After a few hours, I noticed that the colors of my Smashbox Eye Shadow Trio were still very vibrant and hadn’t creased or caked. The eye shadow remained rich in color and didn’t fade at all. In my opinion, this eye shadow is appropriate to wear anytime. I feel comfortable wearing the eye shadow trio to work as well as when I go out in the evening. I love how this eye shadow trio contains the matching base shade, contour color and highlighter. If I had to use three different eye shadows to use as a base, contour and highlighter, I don’t feel that the results would be as superior as it is with the Smashbox Eye Shadow Trio.

If I had to state any negatives about this eye shadow, it would be that each shadow size is a little on the smaller size and I wish they were bigger. It would be nice if the price of $28.00 could come down a little, however, I don’t mind spending more because I love the look that I get from this product.

I would definitely purchase the Smashbox Eye Shadow Trio again when I run out of it, and I recommend it to anyone who wants a trio of richly pigmented eye shadows that are long lasting and don’t fade or crease. If you don’t mind paying $28.00 for this trio of eye shadows, then Smashbox Eye Shadow is for you!
