Side Effects of Paiyouji Tea

For several years now, herbal teas have taken the weight loss market by storm, because many people find them effective in helping reduce pounds. One of these herbal slimming teas that hit the markets recently is Paiyoui tea. This tea is supposed to act not just as an appetite suppressant, but also as an aid in controlling the blood sugar levels. However, recent studies have revealed the side effects of paiyouji tea, which anyone interested to try it should be aware of.

The main ingredients of this tea include konjaku flour, oligosaccharides, and chitin. Since the use of this tea as a weight loss supplement is not really approved or recommended by the FDA, you should find out what these ingredients can do, before deciding to use paiyoui tea. Another thing that can raise some red flag is the fact that there is really no official website giving detailed information about this tea, as well as testimonials of satisfied users.

Side Effects of Paiyouji Tea Main Ingredients

The paiyouji tea has konjaku flour, which has a high content of glucomannan, a fiber that easily absorbs water and expands inside the stomach. For the dieter, a feeling of being full for hours results from drinking this tea. Weight loss becomes easier, because appetite is suppressed. It is important to note, however that the common side effects of paiyoui tea such as flatulence and abdominal pain are most probably caused by glucomannan.

The oligassacharides found in this tea can increase colon activity due to their laxative effect. This can lead to watery stools, frequent bowel movement and flatulence. If a dieter does not take enough liquids, dehydration may even result.

Chitin is another main ingredient of paiyouji tea. It is made from the skeletons of crustaceans which supposedly absorb fats from food that is later on excreted from the body. However, it is not only the fat that is excreted, but with it comes other nutrients that the body needs. There are also fat soluble vitamins which will not work if there is not enough fat to help them get digested.

Excessive use of the tea can lead to other discomforts which include dizziness, migraines and nausea. These side effects of paiyoui tea usually happen when the body does not get enough nutrients from a balanced diet.

Although manufacturers of weight loss supplements with paiyouji tea claim that all these ingredients can accelerate weight reduction, there are really no proven data to support this claim. Paiyouji is not really like green tea, which has already been proven not just to cleanse the body of toxins (which helps in weight reduction), but is also a powerful antioxidant that can prevent health risks such as cancer.

Since there is not enough information on this tea, one should not take the side effects of paiyouji tea for granted. Before making the paiyouji tea a regular part of your diet, make sure to consult your doctor to avoid any potential health risks that may result from it.
