Rowan County Fair in Salisbury N.C

It’s that time of year again! The Rowan County Fair will be in town from Sept.17 through Sept.22nd. So grab the kids or come alone to enjoy a night of rides, games, animals and food.

The Rowan County Fair is held at the Julian Road fairgrounds and is located on Julian Rd. in Salisbury, NC 28146. Locals have enjoyed the fair for years and their children look forward to it so much that the Rowan County Schools even offer a students night where the students get free passes to the fair. Though families from Rowan county enjoy the fair we always welcome and invite everyone from miles around to come enjoy the Rowan County Fair and all it has to offer.

The fair offers rides and food for everyone. From the ferris wheel to the kiddie rides and everything in between there is sure to be something for each member of the family. No need for supper before you come because they offer everything from hamburgers, polish sausages and nachos to cotton candy, candy apples and funnel cakes. Almost anything you could want to eat or drink can be found at the Rowan County Fair.

An old favorite at the fair is the animals. Children love to go to the barn to pet all the animals. Some of the animals you will find there are pigs, goats, ponies or maybe even a little calf. There are so many animals to see and pet, yet they are also for sale. You will find many cattle and other livestock that you can purchase. Don’t tell the kids though, or you may end up going home with a cute little goat!

Children aren’t the only ones that the Rowan County Fair caters to. For the adults there are the animal sales as I mentioned and there is also a demolition derby on Friday and Saturday nights. What fun! I love to watch the cars just slam into each other and root for my favorite to be the last one running. For the children and adults to enjoy together they are having an elephant and tiger show twice a night and three times on Saturday. I have attended the fair since I was a child and I have never saw this before so I am really looking forward to it.

Tell your friends and family about the fair and make plans to come join us for the time of your life!
