Review of “Mark’s RV Garage”

A new internet television series has received the Telly Award. The film, stage and television industries have their awards, and the internet has the Telly.

For a new program to have such an impact to be awarded a Telly in their first season is incredible. But “Mark’s RV Garage” is incredible.

Created and hosted by Mark Polk, the episodes are filmed clearly, the lighting is perfect so you can see what’s going on, and you can hear the information without trying to read his lips.

Different products for the RV industry are featured, but are not introduced as sales pitches. They are show sponsors whose products are used on the show. Mark does inform the audience that different products are on the market.

If you have questions about a particular repair, Mark addresses them on his show. He runs the website, RV Education 101.

Mark began his career in the RV industry at the age of 15. He knows every aspect of building, repairing, upgrading and renovating every kind of RV.

During his series, he rebuilds a vintage Yellowstone travel trailer from the bottom frame up. Many vintage parts are retained, while modern and energy-efficient upgrades are added.

I had the chance to purchase a vintage Yellowstone. Sadly, it was a disaster. I had neither the time, funds or place to keep it and rebuild it from the ground up.

Mark’s upgrades include a 12volt stereo system with speakers. The 12volt system takes power directly from the battery, allowing the air conditioner (also an upgrade) to take power from the park’s grid.

Every detail of the project is explained in layman’s terms. No audience member has to look up technical terms or keep a dictionary on hand. The camera is never blocked, so the audience can see each step of installation or application.

Mark’s sense of humor makes the show fun to watch. He doesn’t cut up so much that you think you’re watching a comedian, but he’s not boring, either.

Each episode is approximately 30 minutes long and packed with information from beginning to end.

Everything about an RV is address during the Yellowstone’s rebuilding. Pay particular attention to Episode #7, where Mark gives a wonderful explanation of deep cycle batteries, and how to manage them.

If you’re an experience RV’er, you can learn something new from Mark. If you’re a newbie or just thinking about them, and wonder if they’re “too much to handle,” watch the series.

You may find out they’re within your existing skills and budget.
