Ticketmaster.com is the most obvious source for purchasing tickets online. There are others, however, that may offer cheaper prices on comparable seats. Though it seems to be the easiest route Ticketmaster.com may not always have the best seats and prices. StubHub.com and Tickets.com are other resources not to be overlooked. You can also find some deals as well on auction sites like eBay.com. Make sure you look for a reputable seller before purchasing! Try not to limit yourself in your haste to secure any ticket; patience can be a virtue here as well!
Tip Number 4: Camping Out?
Okay, I admit, most places have overruled the option of camping for concert tickets. So, while you may not be allowed to spend the night with your sleeping bag, flask, and portable grill you can show up to purchase tickets earlier in the day. No matter what time you get there, you can rest assured that there are at least one hundred other freaks as set as you are on getting the perfect ticket, so you should still be prepared to wait (perhaps the above mentioned flask will still come in handy?).
Tip Number 5: The Dreaded Scalper
Your car is in the shop after a hit and run, your internet has been inexplicably down for a week, and you have a phobia of standing in long lines next to people with questionable hygiene. It is the day of the concert and you have still yet to score your concert tickets. You are fully aware of the fact that scalpers exist; they are the seedy underbelly of the ticket purchasing swindle. Of course, you do not actually want to consort with these types, but if you’re desperate, you’re desperate. Street smarts come into play when dealing with scalpers. If you absolutely have to buy one of these tickets, make sure you know exactly what the actual tickets look like. Surely, you can find someone nice enough to give you a quick look at their stub so you can be sure that you don’t get scammed. Also, be patient. Scalpers panic when the show begins and the crowds outside start to dwindle. If you can bear missing the first song, wait until the show is underway. You won’t miss too much of the action and you will be able to buy a drastically cut-rate concert ticket.
Lastly, you can always double up on your plan of attack. Stand in line while calling in on your cell phone. Have a friend checking internet prices while you wait and keep in touch to see who finds the best deal. Also, if this is a very popular concert that will definitely sell out, you can buy extra tickets (if you have the capital) and resell the tickets you decide not to use. And keep in mind that some radio stations or television networks offer contests for answering trivia questions or just calling in at the right moment.
