Poppit Strategy Guide

Poppit is not only one of the first games Pogo.com offered. It also continues to be one of the most popular to this day. Why? Because it’s addicting! Poppit is also a free game. I remember about eight years ago when I first played the game. I spent nearly all day trying to pop every single balloon in a single game. For hours, I kept saying to myself, “Alright, this is definitely my last game”. Your goal may be to gain levels and badges. It may be to collect all the prizes. Or, like me, your goal may be to try and pop every balloon. Here’s a strategy guide to help you pop every balloon in Poppit!

You need to be patient. If you quickly run through and click any balloons, you’re not going to win. Think ahead. You may believe that running through real quick will get you points faster. But, that’s not true. The less balloons you have at the end of a game, the more bonus points you will get. Plus, if you don’t release all the prizes, you’re not going to make any progress in making it to the next level. So, just take the time to relax and enjoy the game.

Don’t think about the big picture. Concentrate on a few columns at a time. I like to work my way from left to right. Try to eliminate one column at a time. Once the columns push together, you’ll have more options. But, work out the series of moves you have to make to pop all the balloons in a given column. If you’re going to be left with only one balloon in a given column, you should be thinking about how you’re going to eliminate that firs because if you don’t, everything on the left side of that balloon won’t be able to be popped until you take care of that single one. Like chess, you have to think several moves ahead.

Don’t be afraid to use the undo button. It doesn’t affect your score if you use it and it can be used as many times as you like during the course of the game. Sometimes, something you think will work out well will actually not be the best idea in the long run. You can click undo as many times as you’d like to bring you back to a point where you can try a new strategy. Forget about getting a “super pop” bonus. This really won’t help you in accomplishing your goal to eliminate all the balloons on the screen.

Concentrate on the balloons located at the top of the columns. Clicking on the ones at the bottom won’t do any good as it doesn’t shift columns or pull balloons up to the top. So, pop from left to right and top to bottom.

Once you’ve popped about 75% of the balloons, you have to be even more patient and pop slower thinking even more moves ahead. This is when you will take into consideration any ‘weights’ and ‘pins’ you have. Save these until the end because you’ll probably need them to get rid of every balloon.

You’ll find that once you relax, take your time and think ahead you’ll start ending each game with only a few balloons. This will help you gain ranks fast in the game and earn game award badges quickly! Good luck!
