Pasta Slim Spaghetti Review

Pasta Slim by Wildwood is a wheat and gluten free pasta alternative with only 20 calories per serving. As a comparison, a serving of regular wheat pasta contains about 210 calories. The average restaurant portion size may contain 1,000 calories.

But how does it taste? Since I’m familiar with tofu-based pastas, I found it to be extremely satisfying. What does plain pasta tastes like anyway? It’s really more about the texture and consistency and what you put on top of the pasta that gives it the taste.

The product is similar to the House Foods Shirataki angel hair pasta, which is also a soy-based pasta substitute. Just like traditional Shirataki, the Pasta Slim ingredients list includes Konjac flour, which is a plant similar to yams.

I like to rinse the Pasta Slim by Wildwood before I cook it and after I cook it to eliminate any odor from the preservation. The slimming pasta can truly turn you into a Skinny Italian. I don’t think anyone really believes there are skinny Italians who eat big plates of pasta everyday anyway!

Pasta Slim needs to be kept refrigerated, yet the package says not to freeze. I purchased Pasta Slim at Whole Foods Market.

I found the Pasta Slim spaghetti extremely satisfying. I also tried the Pasta Slim spinach fettuccini version which was a nice twist and paired nicely with a little grated cheese and basil.

Here’s a few details about the Pasta Slim Spaghetti:

No. 1: Pasta Slim calories: 20 calories. Each package contains two servings or 3.5 ounces per serving.

No. 2: Pasta Slim nutritional facts: Pasta Slim contains a half a gram of fat, 5 mg sodium, no cholesterol, 4 grams carbs, 3 grams fiber, zero sugar. It has 6 percent of the daily recommended amount of calcium and 2 percent iron. It has 1 gram of protein. Yes, there really can be a low-carb pasta!

No. 3: Pasta Slim ingredients: water, tofu, konjac four, calcium hydroxide and other ingredients.

No. 4: Pasta Slim needs to be drained before eating. It is sold in a plastic bag with water as opposed to being dried in a box as traditional wheat pasta.

No. 5: Pasta Slim is gluten free and cooks in one minute! Make sure to check the best before date. A low-carb pasta alternative, Pasta Slim is manufactured for Pulmuone Wildwood, Inc., Fullerton, California. Visit their web site.

I recommend topping the pasta with whatever you would normally make if you aren’t too concerned about calories. But if you want to lose weight through calorie restriction, sprinkle Pasta Slim with seasoning, herbs, grated cheese or use it in a vegetable stir-fry.

For my review, I give Pasta Slim 4.5 out of 5 for taste. For weight loss assistance, I give it 5 out of 5. It’s absolutely how incredible how the product satisfies a craving for pasta but lets you pig out and lose weight instead of gaining!
