“Max and Ruby” Themed Party Favors for Preschoolers

“Max and Ruby” is an adorable, animated series that has captured the hearts of many preschoolers. Your children may very well be among them. If they are, you may want to mull over the idea of hosting a “Max and Ruby” themed party. Although there are not a lot of commercially made “Max and Ruby” party favors available, the theme is still executable. You just have to get a little crafty in order to get the job done. With that said, here’s a quick peek at a handful of my “Max and Ruby” party favor ideas:

Cookies

How comfortable are you working with sheet metal, pliers and metal snips? If your answer is, “very comfortable”, you may want to think about making your own “Max and Ruby” cookie cutters. The cookie cutters could be used to make cookie favors for your guests as well as canapés.

In order to make them, you’ll need to print out the free Max’s Dress-Up Paper Dolls Template on the Nick Jr. website and fork over $16 for a Design-Your-Own-Cookie Cutter Gift Set. Once your kit arrives, read the instructions that come with it. Then cut out the figures of Max and Ruby and use them as an outline for your cookie cutters. After you are done making the cutters, you can create as many Max and Ruby cookies as your heart desires.

Denim Tote Bags

Max is known for his denim overalls so why not give the kids a customized, denim tote bag too. Hobby Lobby typically sells a 10 inch by 9 inch denim tote bag for $3. You could easily customize the bags by creating “Max and Ruby” iron-on transfers. To make the transfers, all you need is a package of iron-on transfer paper, a printer and the paper doll templates mentioned previously. Instructions for making the iron-on transfers are usually printed on the iron-transfer paper’s packaging.

Storybooks

If the idea of working with metal or fabric doesn’t appeal to you, you may want to hand out “Max and Ruby” storybooks instead. Some of the books retail for as little as $1 apiece. Inexpensive titles to look for include “Ruby’s Cupcakes” and “Max’s Ride.” You might even want to pair the books with “Max and Ruby” Rings. A dozen rings are apt to cost you $3 through specialty retailers like Discount Party Supplies.

Chocolates

Lastly, you may want to give your guests a chocolate “Max and Ruby” treat. For example, you could fill a carrot shaped box with candies or make carrot shaped chocolate lollipops. Other great options include bunny shaped chocolate pops and solid, bite-size bunnies. In most instances, you can find the candy making supplies needed to make the treats through confectionary shops like Sugar Craft and Global Sugar Art. Prices will vary based on the retailer and the amount of chocolate needed.
