Kidkraft Kitchens

Men, is it time we manned up and got our young boys into cooking and everything that goes with that? Yes I mean cleaning up as well!!! I saw a picture on a blog the other day of a smiling young blonde girl in a dress holding an imaginary dish of food. The article that accompanied it asked the question ‘is this what we want to teach our children about the roles that the sexes play?’ it got me thinking, do boys play with toy kitchens? Should boys play with kitchen play sets?

To answer this question, I need to ask another question; do young boys have role models to look up to, chefs they can aspire to be? Well you have some great chefs on shows like Iron chef and we have Britain’s export Jamie Oliver. So for the sake of the argument let’s say that young boys should not only be allowed to use kitchen playsets but they should be encouraged. But what kind of kitchen playset should they go for? Is there something that not only appeals to boys but is there something that can take the tougher playing style of a boy?

I think that the answer is, yes there is a great kitchen out there for boys and it’s called the Kidkraft Deluxe Let’s Cook Kitchen. If the thought of construction it brings you out in a sweat, then grab someone who loves DIY. No stickers to worry about though, the pictures are all pre-done.
