Keezer’s: The Best Boston Tuxedo Rental

Helping my Mother prepare for her wedding was a lot of fun…that is until I had to find a tuxedo for the groom. We were having a very small wedding and did not require all the bells and whistles that usually come with a fancy tux. I was distraught when I went to the usual tuxedo sites such as Mr.Tux and David’s Bridal. They demanded you sign up and practically give a blood sample just to get to a browser page. Being the rebellious and independent person I am, I told myself I would find another tuxedo shop and their super un-user-friendly sited could take a hike. With a little internet research, I found a tux shop close to Boston, actually in Cambridge. The name “Keezers” threw me off at first, but I gave it a chance and was happy I did.

I called Keezers and the staff was helpful and friendly in the typical New England type of way. I inquired about a tuxedo rental and they told me $50 dollars included Jacket, Pants, Shirt, Cummerbund or Backless Vest, Bowtie, and Studs and Cufflinks. Fullback Vests are $5.00 extra and Shoes are $7.50 extra. I was ecstatic! I had succeeded and was not forced to go to a big chain rental store. I told the friendly gentleman I’d need the Tux for a Sunday, he assured me that as long as we came in and were fitted a few days ahead of time, that wouldn’t be a problem.

A few days later we ventured to Keezers, located on 140 River Street in Cambridge, this is also a short 10-minute walk from Central Square on the Red Line. A hip clerk greeted us upon immediately entering the store and we let him know the groom needed to be fitted for a tuxedo. He was extremely nice and I think his laid back, but on the job attitude must put many nervous grooms’ jitters to rest. He helped my soon-to-be-stepfather into numerous jackets, making sure he had just the right fit. Next came shirts, pants, a choice of tie or bowtie and a vest. We had our mixed and matched items ready and we were ready to go! We paid the $50 dollars and the clerk let us know that we wouldn’t have to return the tux for a full 4 days. This was such a relief! Now we wouldn’t have to worry about returning the tux that same day and could actually relax after the festivities.

I will recommend Keezers to anyone who is looking for tuxedo rental. Not only do they have tuxedos, but they also carry fine suits for rent or sale as well as children’s formal wear. (I bought my son a tuxedo jacket for only $10 dollars.) They have a wide selection and everything is separated by color, making it easy for the men to beeline to the necessary racks. The sales associates are helpful and the selection is just as good as the big-chain stores, so give Keezer’s a try if you’re looking for a bargain.
