Ideas for High School Senior Projects

Senior projects are never fun, and they are very time consuming. However, in order for you to graduate they need to get done, and especially be done well if you would like a considerably good grade. If you are like me, I was completely lost at the idea of picking something for my senior project, and I had no idea what I wanted to do when I grew up.

Don’t worry! There are many things you can do for your senior project. Yes, I do believe for many of you it should reflect upon what you want to do out of highschool, but if you don’t have any idea what you want to do, just choose something that interests you.

Possible Topics: Healthcare, medicine, law, agriculture, law enforcement, art, teaching.

Lets cover each one of those subjects with an idea or two of what you could present on, or job shadow for your senior project.

Healthcare: Many of you have heard that nursing is hot right now right? Right! That’s cause it is, many things can go into nursing and healthcare. Pretty much anything that deals with anatomy, or physiology of some sorts. Perhaps you could go around to different classrooms talking to the students about what it actually takes to become a nurse! That would be beneficial information to you and them.

Medicine: A growing field, and will always need help. Perhaps you could do research on a bunch of different medicines, and give your reason why it is the best, and others don’t work and how you would like to be a pharmasist or chemist working with medicine someday!

Law: Well, for those who aspire to become a lawyer, you could go to the local court, and hear the hearing and watch the jury if there is one, and take note and talk about what goes into a court trial!

Agriculture: I live in Washington State, and there are orchards everywhere, or maybe if you live in California there are oranges. Do research on the agriculture industry, and reference how you would like to be part of it too.

Law Enforcement: Police officers are awesome, they protect me. Do a police ride along!, go to your local police station and talk to the front desk about organizing a police ride along, they are extremely fun and the police normally always love someone to chat with. Write about your experience and present.

Art: I find this one an easy subject. Anything you find to be art, is art. Make a drawing, make a painting, make a sculpture, write about your influences, and where you came up with the idea, talk about how you want to do this in your spare time when you grow up etc. etc. and present!

Teaching: This one is a good one, talk about your experience as a student, and how you want to be a teacher someday to help improve other students’s experiences and how you want to be just like your favorite teacher someday.

Take anything that could be a job or an interest, write about it, prresent to others about it, present to your class about it, (or however your school does it). Make sure to choose something fun that interests you.
