How to Write a Nice Love Letter

Writing a love letter is a nice way to show someone that you love them and appreciate them. Handwriting it is best on a piece paper with a pen. You and your lover can look back on it in years to come and it may become a treasured memory. Maybe you could spritz a little perfume or cologne on your letter before writing it. Here are a few tips to help you write a love letter.

Start out with a good greeting. I say the mushier the better. You could write “To my darling girlfriend” or “To the man who makes me happy”. If you have pet names for each other, use one of those for your greeting.

In the body of the letter, start off by expressing your love for them. Tell them why you first fell in love with them, why you still love them, what you love about them and how much you appreciate them. Put a lot of detail into your letter. For example, you could write, “I first fell in love with your laugh. You have a way of brightening up my day with your laughter. I love your sense of humor. You have a way of making things so much easier by adding amusement to my life. I still love the way still make me laugh and add sunshine to my days.” You could write something funny that the two of you share, such as a joke or a funny story.

You could write about the ways you appreciate your lover. Thank them for the time that they did something special for you. Be specific. Let’s say your significant other took good care of you when you got real sick. You could “Thank you so much for taking care of me when I had that bad stomach flu. It feels good to know that I can count on you when I need you the most.”

When you are writing what you like about them, you could write it in number order. It could be like making a list. You could write, “Here are the top 5 things that I love about you.” Then you would write numbers one through five and list each thing that you love about your lover.

Get romantic. After you tell them what you love about them and you are done thanking them for the things they have done for you, write some romantic things for them. Tell your lover that you would like to take them out for a romantic dinner or that you would like to treat them to a night of pampering. A night of pampering could be drawing them a bath and giving them a massage. It could be that you would like to spend the night alone, cuddled in bed, listening to some love songs together. Anything that will create a bond between the two of you romantically would be a nice thing to add to the end of your letter.

Finally, you could sign your name like this “Love from the woman who is so glad to be yours”, or “Love always from the man who is so happy to be with you.” Then you could write your actual name or pet name underneath, if you wish. Put your letter in a nice envelope. You could either mail it to your lover, even if they live with you, or leave it on their pillow. It might be a nice idea to surprise them with it instead of just handing it to them.
