Honeymoon Destinations in Australia

Honeymoon destinations in Australia are sought by many newlyweds. Travel is inexpensive and getting first hand information on where to go can literally save you hundreds if not thousands of dollars. In this edition of honeymoon destinations we travel along the coastal areas from Queensland down to the tip of Victoria.

1. Caloundra, Queensland. Situated just 1 hour north of Queensland’s capitol, Brisbane is the area known as the Sunshine Coast. Caloundra is the jewel of this area and is of course located right on the pristine waterside. Caloundra boasts magnificent views of the clear blue sea from almost every motel in town. The slightly hilly terrain adds to the beauty of this sun drenched location. Local area activities include a spectacular horse racing venue, and the Returned Serviceman’s League Club (RSL). Here you can partake in many gambling activities from slots to bingo. Enjoy a delicious meal and meet the locals. The beach life is superb with many motels having direct access to the waterfront. Book a fully serviced hotel suite with meals provided or a self contained holiday apartment. Queensland’s claim to fame is it’s warm climate. The state’s motto being “Beautiful one day, perfect the next”.

2. Eden, New South Wales. What a fitting name for a honeymoon destination. Eden is located on the south east coast of New South Wales, south of Sydney. Local area attractions include seaside resorts, golfing, gaming and breathtaking national parks. If you’re the outdoor couple you will never want to leave Eden. Hike the trails and see the unique flora and fauna with kangaroos and colorful grass parrots who all make their home among the gum tress and semi tropical giant tree ferns. Float on the area lakes with a picnic or take in the sunset right on the beach over a campfire. Eden is a world renowned fishing destination too. Catch your own or dine on delectable seafood at any of the 5 star restaurants in town.

3. Phillip Island, Victoria. Visit the rugged south coast and view the evening march of Fairy Penguins. Every evening at dusk, these darling creatures return from their day in the ocean and march right by your feet on the way back to their dens. The curious little animals are almost oblivious to people, having made their way through the sand dunes before crowds of curious onlookers for many years. Don’t forget your camera! Dine in style at one of the local eateries after wards, or cook out on BBQ facilities provided around the area. Phillip Island has a huge variety of budget or luxury accommodation available. Visit the beach for an early morning surfing lesson followed by a stroll around some of the art galleries, where local artists are showcased. Take a walk around the tree top boardwalk at the Koala Conservation Center and get up close and personal with one of Australia’s more amazing animals right in it’s own habitat.

Book now with Qantas, Australia’s own Airline. Current rates for these zones (1&2) start at a low $1,099.
