“Go, Diego, Go!” Themed Party Favors for Preschoolers

Is “Go, Diego, Go!” one of your preschoolers’ favorite television shows on Nick Jr.? If so, perhaps you should think about organizing a Diego themed party for them. In my opinion, it makes a perfect party theme for several reasons. For starters, the series is educational, popular and age-appropriate. It also lends itself to the utilization of many wonderful party favors. Here’s a quick rundown on a smattering of them:

Safari Vest

Are you the crafty sort? If so, you may want to think about making each guest a “Go, Diego, Go!” safari vest. In order to make it, you’ll need the fishing vest pattern posted on the Sewing website, iron-on transfer paper, Velcro, canvas fabric and the Diego Iron-On Printable posted on the Nick Jr. website. Of course you’ll also need basic sewing supplies and a D-ring.

The instructions for making the vest are fairly straightforward. Once you’ve finished making it, simply create the iron-on transfer and then add it to the back of the vest. That’s all that there is to it. Depending on your budget, you may even want to consider pairing the vest with a straw pith hat. A dozen hats tend to retail for $21 through major party supply retailers.

Messenger Totes

Would you prefer to give your guests a homemade “Go, Diego, Go!” themed gift that doesn’t require sewing? Well then, you may want to contemplate making “Go, Diego, Go!” messenger totes. In order to make them you will need blank messenger totes, the Diego Iron-On Printable mentioned previously and a pack of iron-on transfer paper. The blank messenger totes are typically available for purchase through specialty retailers. One company that sells them is Oriental Trading. A dozen bags usually retails for $12. A pack of iron-on transfer paper is apt to cost you $9 through office supply and craft stores.

To assemble the gifts, just create the iron-on transfers and affix them to the bags. You could also personalize the bags further by adding each guest’s name with fabric paint. The choice is yours.

School Supplies

Don’t consider yourself to be very handy with a sewing machine or craft supplies? Don’t stress. Over the years, I have found that some preschoolers enjoy receiving “Go, Diego, Go!” themed school supplies too. Items that always seem to be appreciated are stickers, pencils, notepads, crayons and rulers. Although prices will vary, each item tends to retail for less than $2 each. You can usually purchase them through major department stores and specialty shops. I should also mention that if you do decide to go that route, you may want to consider throwing in a few temporary tattoos. They tend to go over well with the kids too.
