With the Yo Gabba Gabba gang going on tour this fall with Yo Gabba Gabba! Live! there are sure to be plenty of requests for Yo Gabba Gabba birthday parties. The show, which stars DJ Lance Rock, Muno, Plex, Foofa, Toodee and Brobee has many things which can easily be incorporated into your party plans to make it extra special for your toddler or your preschooler.

Using recurring segments from the show, you can create lots of fun party games and entertainment. Kids will love feeling like they are part of the show. The beauty of many of these is that they don’t require too many supplies or props in order to pull them off. The children are just pleased by the entertainment.

Cool tricks is an opportunity to showcase someone with a creative talent. On the show there are kids who perform everything from gymnastics to putting a spoon on their nose to playing the drums. Perhaps you could ask each child beforehand to come prepared to share their own cool trick.

Each episode of Yo Gabba Gabba incorporates a Dancey Dance Time that involves a special guest that teaches the Yo Gabba Gabba gang a new dance move. Dancing is always a hit with kids so you could make up some cool new moves, turn on some music and teach a short dance lesson. There is even a Yo Gabba Gabba soundtrack that is available. At the end of the lesson, everyone could “go crazy” with their dance moves and show them off. You could even have a contest to see who could come up with the craziest dance moves.

Biz’s beat of the day is one of the funniest parts of the show. Kids love it. If you know someone who can beatbox you could get them to demonstrate a beatbox for the party. This could even be included as part of the cool tricks.

Story time is the part of the episode where children can listen to a story. Let your birthday girl or boy pick a story that they can listen to while gathered with all of their friends.

Toodee has a segment where she identifies sounds that she hears. Play common and not so common sounds and let the kids guess what they are hearing.

Brobee thinks of colors and has others guess what he is thinking about. This is an easy game to play and doesn’t really require any props.

Muno likes to play pretend and encourages kids to imagine themselves as other things. It could be expanded into a fun game of charades.

Time to learn with Plex is where Plex learns all sorts of life skills that are not only entertaining but useful as well. A small demonstration could be given about how to do any number of things that you think the children might want to learn.

Foofa is playful and likes games. The Nick Jr.Website provides templates for Yo Gabba Gabba dominos, Yo Gabba Gabba picture puzzles, and Yo Gabba Gabba Bingo.

With a little creativity, your birthday boy or girl will feel like they are experiencing Gabba land at their very own birthday party!
