Freshlook Dimensions Pacific Blue Colored Contact Lenses: Review

When I was around 15 years old colored contact lenses became all the hype. Everyone in school sported either purple eyes or gorgeous glowing greens and blues. I too wanted to jump onto the bandwagon. I had green eyes, but boy had I always wanted blue.

I fell in love with my first pair of lenses, Illusions. Sadly though those specific colored lenses were expensive when I was a kid, and they are still expensive now.

Recently though, after getting glasses, I wanted to take a dip into the world of contact lenses again. Colored, to be precise.

I took my search to the internet, like most people do when they are looking to save a few bucks. I came across a slew of websites offering colored lenses for decent prices. One particular site though had trial pairs that could be bought for way way less. I liked this because I didn’t have to commit to buying 6 lenses boxes. I could simply try the lenses, see if I liked them, and then decide if I wanted to splurge on a larger box.

On every site I came across I became very fond of Freshlook Dimensions. Not only were they in a price range I would consider affordable, but they also came in colors that I absolutely loved. On every site they showed the contact lenses on real peoples eyes, so I could get an idea of what it would look like on my green colored eyes.

What I saw I liked. So I went ahead and placed an order on Pacific Blue, which ‘online’ appeared to be a blue so bright, and glowing that I could not deny it. Every site showed them this way! One site even gave me a pictured example of exactly what Freshlook Dimensions would look like on green eyes. GORGEOUS!

I figured I couldn’t go wrong.

Best of all though, I have light green eyes, so I imagined that Pacific Blue would glow like crazy on my light eyes. (Usually colored lenses I had used in the past made my eyes so striking, simply because they are already a light color).

Before getting into how Freshlook Dimensions Pacific Blue looked on my green eyes, let me fill you in on the product description. First of all Freshlook Dimensions are soft colored contacts. They are designed for people with light eyes, and are made to be used for extended wear. Basically this means you can wear them for up to a month, so long as you keep them clean. I have always found though that with any contacts… no matter how long they say they can be used up to, should be thrown away at the very first sign of discomfort.

Pacific Blue on Light Green Eyes:

I placed the contacts into my eyes gently and took a look in the mirror. I was… um…not impressed. In fact I was a little pissed. Granted I had only paid $12.00 for the pair, and they were just trial lenses… it was still $12.00 wasted in my opinion.

These lenses were supposed to brighten my light eyes, make them look blue. Instead I got a darker colored mossy green look. It sucked because I like the fact that I have a nice rich light green colored eye. I was expecting Pacific Blue to make my eye color even brighter… and oh yeah; BLUE!

Instead I got darker looking green eyes, which I did not like at all. I honestly think that Freshlook Dimensions would look better on someone with darker colored eyes. I have no idea why it is stated that they were made for those with light eyes. They should of stated that if your eyes are very light in color already… that their lenses would make them 4 shades darker.

Besides the color results, I may as well fill you in on the contacts comfort.

Even though I personally did not like the Freshlook Dimensions Pacific Blue color, I will say this, Freshlook Dimensions is a very comfortable contact. I was able to wear the lenses all day without any discomfort, itching, or dryness. I was very happy with the fact that I did not feel the lenses in my eyes at all.

Overall:

Freshlook Dimensions Pacific Blue turns green eyes darker green. They may work nicely with those with darker eyes though. I personally hated the results, but I’m sure someone out there with a darker eye would like them. Plus they are so damn comfortable that I can’t not recommend them.

You can buy trial pairs online for very low prices, at only $6.00 a lens. They come as 0 power though, as they are just trial pairs. You can also find them in boxes of 6 for around $30.00.
