Four Fun Activities for Kids on Saint Patrick’s Day

It’s almost Saint Patrick’s Day, and there are many fun activities to do with kids on this holiday. Mix things up rather than focusing on one type of activity. This will give children variety; therefore, they will not lose interest. With a lot good fortune and a few supplies, kids are sure to have a lucky day. Start out the day by treating your kids to a bowl of Lucky Charms cereal. After that, enjoy the following four activities.

1. Search for lucky pennies

My 6-year-old loves pennies. There is just something magical about them to little ones. Even when I was a child, I remember finding pennies and the ground and saying, “I found a lucky penny.” Take your child around your neighborhood or to a park to search for lucky pennies. Be sure to bring something special to put their money in so they don’t drop any. To add to this activity, clean the pennies to make them shine. 2. Play lucky horseshoes

If you plan on searching for pennies and playing horseshoes, locate a park that has horseshoe pits. You will have to bring your own horseshoes, but they can be used throughout the rest of the spring and summer. There are also metal and plastic sets that come with steaks to stick in the ground, as well as plastic glow in the dark horseshoe sets that you can fill with water or sand to make them heavier. These illuminating horseshoes are sure to light up the night, making them even more magical to kids.

3. Make rainbows and shamrocks with Perler Beads®

I have been helping my kids make crafts with Perler Beads since my 14-year-old was 7. This craft allows kids to create a pattern with beads.
