Are your teens fascinated with horoscopes and what the future may hold for them? If so, you may want to consider planning a fortune teller themed party for them this year. There are multiple items that may be utilized as party favors for such a topic. Here’s a quick look at a handful of them:
Based on my experience, fortune cookies make great party favors. You may opt to create your own fortune cookies or purchase ready-made cookies from your local Chinese restaurant. Of course there are also companies that will make personalized fortune cookies for you. Personally, I like making my own fortune cookies. I have found that they are easy and inexpensive to create at home. If you do decide to give it a try, I’d suggest that you consider using the fortune cookie recipe posted on the Food Network’s website. It has always worked well for me.
Rune Stones
Rune Stones would also make wonderful party favors for teens. There are companies that sell sets of rune stones for $15 to $30 each. There are traditionally 25 rune stones in a set. Therefore, depending on how many guests are on your invite list, you could feasibly buy one set of rune stones and divide it up amongst your party’s attendees. If you don’t want to invest in a set of commercially made rune stones, you could always attempt to make your own using river rocks, paint markers and a piece of paper that displays the rune stone symbols.
Fortune Teller Game
Do you want to give your party guests a gift that doubles as a party activity? If so, you may want to consider investing in the supplies needed to make fortune teller games. My friends and I use to create homemade fortune teller games out of paper and cardstock when we were children. Detailed instructions on how to make the fortune teller game is available on the Enchanted Learning website. Nowadays, you can also buy copies of the fortune teller game through party supply shops for $9 a case (48 games per case).
Magic 8 Ball Pens
Magic 8 Ball Pens are also worthy of consideration. I like them because they have a retro look and are fairly inexpensive to obtain. The pens are black and white with a side fortune window and an 8 ball top. When the 8 ball top gets pushed downward, a new fortune appears in the pen’s side window. You can buy the pens through select party supply shops for $8 a dozen.
Fortune Fish
If you are looking for a really inexpensive party favor, you may want to consider purchasing a 144-piece case of Fortune Fish. Just in case you are not familiar with them, Fortune Fish are made out of a thin plastic material. In order to get a reading, the questioner places the fish in the palm of his or her hand and waits for the fish to react. The fish’s reaction will allegedly reveal the questioner’s future. You can typically purchase Fortune Fish through carnival suppliers and party supply shops for $8 a case.
