Five Ways to Creatively Use Your Baby Shower Gift as a Part of the Decorations

If you are in the process of planning a baby shower, why not get creative with the decorations. Many choose to go with the, in the box themes. For example you can get a box set of baby shower decorations that include the balloons, the plates and the table clothes, sometimes even more. Instead it would make the baby shower itself a lot more special if you choose to make your gifts part of the decor. Below are five ideas on how you can accomplish this.

1. Make a diaper cake

If you are going to be giving your guest of honor diapers as part of their gift, why not turn it into a diaper cake. Diaper cakes are very easy to make, and look really cute as a part of the decor. You can also purchase a few baby blankets, and t-shirts, as part of your diaper cake.

2. Add balloons to it

You can also choose to tie some balloons to your diaper cake or other gifts that you have purchased. Adding the balloons to the gifts helps to give it a really festive look. You can also add balloons to more than one gift at the party. The days of opening the gifts at the party are starting to become a thing of the past. Some still like the tradition of opening the gifts at the party, but more expectant moms are choosing not to. This really helps to add to the decorations.

3. Food is part of the gift too

The food is also part of the gift that one receives at the baby shower. Instead of just spreading out a bunch of food on a table, it really is worth the effort to decorate the table with the food. There are creative ways that you can carve out your fruit. For example you can make a watermelon baby carriage and fill it with fresh fruit. It’s really a great way to add to the table decorations. Even cupcakes can be decorated to match the theme of the party.

4. Put the crib up and use it

If you are giving the crib as a gift it makes sense to put the crib up and use it to hold the gifts. This way you will not have to worry about arranging the gifts, or having the gifts knocked over. All of the gifts can go into the crib and add to the décor of the shower. Place a few balloons around the corners of the crib to add an even more special touch.

5. Hang up the baby clothes

If you are not planning on opening up the gifts at the shower, one nice way to display some of the cutest items like the clothes is to hang them up. You can use some string like a clothes line, and use colored clothes pins to hold up the baby outfits. For example if you are having a baby shower for a girl you can hang up the little dress on the line. String the clothes along the room, and it makes for a great way to decorate with the babies gifts. After the party you can fold up the clothes and place in a bag for the guest of honor.
