Dynex 32-Inch LCD HDTV is an Excellent Buy

A lot of people are in the market nowadays to purchase a new television. There are constantly new technologies being introduced each year that keep making newer televisions more and more complicated and expensive. I have been researching and browsing HDTVs for the past two years and finally came across a good find from Best Buy. I went ahead and purchased this television because of it’s price and all the good feedback from people who own one. It is an off brand that is exclusive to Best Buy called Dynex. The TV is a 32″ LCD HDTV and is very affordable around $500. I purchased this television around a month ago and have been very happy with it since. Here is my review of the 32″ Dynex LCD HDTV.

Let me start off by saying that for the amount of money this TV costs, you can’t get a better deal. So far there has been no issues with the TV and has been running great ever since I purchased it last month. It gets quite a few hours of use a day since it serves as my primary TV. The only real issue that people have been noting is that the speakers on the TV are not all that great. The are obviously not the greatest speakers you can have but for the small room I have it in, it does a wonderful job. I do plan on upgrading to a surround sound system eventually and if you plan on purchasing a TV for a large living room, you might want to consider the same thing. Other small issues are that some brand new HDTV’s have dead pixels which will show up as white dots on your TV when it’s on. Just take it back to exchange for another one if this happens.

The picture quality on this set isn’t half bad. Your standard definition channels will not look all that great, but standard definition channels on any LCD HDTV do not look all that great. A lot will depend on your viewing distance from the TV. Anything up real close will not look all that good at all. The high definition channels look really good. Some will look better than others depending on the station and what program is playing.

The Dynex 32″ LCD HDTV has tuners so you can pick up channels over the air, including some digital and HD channels depending on your location. I live kinda border line from a small city to country and I can pick up a good number of digital channels and even all of the music channels from Charter. I can even pick up my local stations in HD such as Fox, NBC, ABC and CBS along with PBS I believe. Watching the Daytona 500 in HD was something amazing. The picture quality from standard definition to HD was phenomenal. I look forward to watching all of my sports in HD now. You’ll need a HD box from your local cable or satellite provider in order to get HD stations like TNT, EPSN, Discover and so on. I have my TV hooked up through basic cable with Charter.

The Xbox 360 looks amazing hooked up through component inputs on this TV. I would have it hooked up HDMI but my 360 doesn’t have an HDMI input like the newer ones. If you play a lot of video games and still have a standard definition television, this is a relatively cheap solution to make that leap into next generation HD gaming. Its amazing the transition from my old 25″ SDTV to an HDTV for games. You just have to see it yourself and this TV makes for a great gaming TV for a bedroom or even a living room.

The Dynex 32″ LCD HDTV has a ton of hook up options for all of your DVD players and video game systems. You have two HDMI inputs which are the top hookups you can have. You will also have two component and composite inputs which component are your HD hookups and composite are your standard red, yellow and white hookups. There is also an S-Video hookup and even an input to hook up your computer to. This TV can double as a 32″ computer monitor with a VGA cable I believe, but I could be wrong.

Overall, the Dynex 32″ LCD HDTV is an excellent buy for $600. Best Buy likes to put the thing on sale on random weeks and they go through a bunch of these things when they do. I missed my first chance to purchase it when it was $460 but managed a week later to get it at $530 including tax. You can’t beat getting a good quality 32″ HDTV for this price and this one of the highest recommended HDTV’s for this price range compared to Westinghouse and Vizio. I will say the in store display will probably not look that great because of people messing with the settings. Once you get it home and configure your picture settings, it really looks pretty good. The Dynex 32″ LCD HDTV is a great buy for the price and what you get with it.
