Dream Interpretation – People in Dreams

This is one of a series of articles that might help you understand the meaning behind dreams which prey on your conscious mind.

The Ancient Greeks saw dreams as either prophetic or warning in nature. In dreams, imagery tends to be symbolic, representing incidents, present problems and events that are yet to be. Scenes, people and objects may not necessarily represent themselves. It is important to remember that some symbols might mean one thing to one person and another to someone else therefore when interpreting dreams, if the interpretations I suggest of the symbols don’t ring true for you, spend time meditating on the symbol to work out what your dreams might mean.

Seeing Groups of People in Dreams

Many dreams will no doubt include various people, but first of all I’ll start on groups, and then I’ll narrow the possibilities down to the ‘type’ of people who may feature in your nighttime visions.

If you dream of an easy-going crowd of happy people, this suggests that your friendships will be good. If, however, anything occurs to interfere with the crowd’s good spirits, this indicates possible disappointment and perhaps a separation.

Usually, seeing a crowd in your dreams is a good sign, just as long as there aren’t too many wearing black or untidy outfits.

Seeing Ancestors or Family in Dreams

If an ancestor appears to you, in a dream, this could be warning of possible illness. Although, if this person is a grandparent, the recovery will be swift. Usually dreams which include dead relatives, are warnings of possible failure, unless you follow their advice.

Now, let’s take the family, for instance, and if you dream of seeing your brother in good health, good fortune will be bestowed on your family. If, however, your brother doesn’t look too good, a loss which is likely to effect your closest relations, is a possibility.

A woman dreaming of her brother is a sign of domestic happiness. On the other hand, a man dreaming of his brother, warns of quarrels. Dreaming of a brother getting married is indication of possible family disputes. One other suggestion indicated when dreaming of brothers and sisters, is a long-life.

Moving on to sisters and dreams of sisterly arguments suggests disappointments in the family. If however, one of the women is your sister-in-law, a small windfall is a possibility. Good fortune is also indicated if a sister is in contention with a brother-in-law.

It is a fortunate sign to dream of seeing your mother. If she appears to you in a domestic setting, you might expect good results in current aims. If conversation takes place, then expect good news about something you’re uncertain about.

While if it’s your mother-in-law who appears in your dream, this speaks of reconciliation after recent discord.

To see your father in your dreams suggests that there may be difficulties ahead and you might be wise to reconsider your involvements in certain areas. If, however, you are in conversation with your father, happiness is on the cards.
