DIY: Medieval Scroll, Flip Flop, and More Birthday Party Invitations

Do it yourself party invitations are easy to make, and help create a unique party experience. Not to mention the fast that you can save a bundle by using a little creativity.

DIY: Medieval Scroll Party Invitations

Supplies you will need:
Off white, or yellow copy paper
Ribbon
A squirt bottle filled with water
Permanent marker
Stamp with medieval symbol (dragons, swords, crowns, etc..)
Stamp pad
Hair dryer
Old towels

To make these wonderful medieval scroll party invitations first lay several old towels onto your work space. Next place one piece of paper for every party invitation you plan to make, flat on the towels making sure they do not touch one another. Once you have the papers in place, lightly mist the papers with water. Allow the water to set for 2 minutes, and then blow dry them until they are completely dry. Repeat this step of wetting, and drying the papers until you have achieved the texture you desire. Once the texture is to your liking, allow the papers to dry for an additional hour, or until they are dry and crisp. After the papers are dry, lightly rub ink onto your stamper, and place the stamp of your liking at the top of the page, in the middle. Allow the ink to dry for 30 minutes, and then using a permanent marker write in the party information, using fancy lettering. Finally, roll your scroll up, and use a 5 inch piece of ribbon to tie and around the scroll. These invitations are fun, and easy however, they do better if they are handed out, and not stuffed in an envelope.

DIY: Flip Flop Party Invitation’s

Supplies you will need:
Toddler size flip flip for a pattern
Card stock paper
Large card envelopes
Ribbon
Beads, rhinestones, flowers, etc….
Glue

First you will want to trace your flip flops out using a toddler size flip flop for a pattern. Once the cards are traced, neatly cut out your flip flops. On one side of the card you can write all your party information. On the other side of the flip flop card, use one piece of ribbon to make the straps. To do so, fold the ribbon into a V shape and glue the point of the V between the toes. Next, glue the sides of the V where the would be on a flip flop, on the sides. Finally, trim away and extra ribbon. You can use flowers, rhinestones, beads and more for added decoration on your ribbon straps, and between the toes. Once all the glue is dry, simply place your flip flops in an envelope and mail. TIP: Left over unused Christmas card envelopes works great.

DIY: Balloon Party Invitations

Supplies you will need:
6 balloons per invitation
A pump to blow the balloons up with
Permanent marker
Envelopes
Confetti
A extra pair of hands

What better way to invite a child to a birthday party, then with balloons? First off you will need 6 balloons per invitation, and an extra set of hands. Using a pump, not your mouth, blow up one balloon. Have someone pinch the bottom of the balloon to keep the air in, without tying it. Next write one piece of the party information on the balloon. Once your partner lets go of the balloon, your writing will shrink. Repeat this step for all six balloons.
EXAMPLE:
Balloon 1 – Your invited to a party
Balloon 2 – For: (Your Name)
Balloon 3 – Time:
Balloon 4 – Date:
Balloon 5 – Place
Balloon 6 – RSVP:
Once all of the balloons are done, place all 6 in an envelope and add a sprinkle of confetti, then seal. The kids have a blast blowing up the balloons to see the message, plus it gives them a little extra treat.
