Dirt Devil Stick Vac Plus – Product Review

I have been using the Dirt Devil Stick Vac Plus since I first purchased it more than ten years ago. For a mini vacuum to last that long, you know that it is a quality product. While I previously was not a big fan of Dirt Devil products, I have since realized the exceptional quality and longevity of the cleaning products this company produces. While I would not recommend relying on the Dirt Devil Stick Vac Plus for a full house of carpeting as the vacuum bags and overall unit is quite small, this mini vacuum definitely has it’s uses. Let me tell you a little bit about the Dirt Devil Stick Vac Plus and why I love it so much.

The Dirt Devil Stick Vac Plus is extremely lightweight. You can easily move it from room to room and up and down the stairs without undue strain. The unit is very basic with a case for the vacuum bag, a thin handle and a triangle rotating head on the bottom to suck up dirt an dirt. Although I have never actually put this stick vacuum on the scale, I would venture to say that the entire unit weighs between ten and fifteen pounds. This makes vacuuming several rooms on different floors a breeze. Nothing makes a full day of cleaning more taxing than lugging a heavy and bulk vacuum cleaning between floors.

The lower level of my home is completely carpet free. I have wood laminates in my formal living room and family room, and decorative tiles in the kitchen. While using the traditional broom and dustpan is certainly a tried and true method of cleaning non carpeted floors, I have found that this way of cleaning floors can just as easily stir the dust and dirt up and move it to different areas instead of removing it. Did I mention that I have two dogs as well as two children? This adds up to floors that get more than their fair share of dirt and dog hair. By running my Dirt Devil Stick Vac Plus across the entire downstairs of my house every day, I can easily keep the bottom level of my home clean and free from hair, dirt and dust. In all my years of vacuuming my hard floors with this stick vacuum, I have never caused any damage to the flooring.

The triangular pivoting head of the Dirt Devil Stick Vac Plus makes navigating around furniture and cabinets as well as in all the nooks and crannies of a house extremely easy. The head smoothly pivots around any roadblocks in it’s way and continues on it’s way. I find this to be a great advantage to using this mini stick vacuum.

While I would not recommend the Dirt Devil Stick Vac Plus for giving thick and deep carpeting a thorough cleaning, this product does a wonderful job on carpeted stairs. The high speed setting of the Dirt Devil Stick Vac Plus easily removes the dog hair from my carpeted stairs, while the light weight of the unit makes moving the vacuum from stair to stair very easy.

For hardwood floors, tiles and laminates and light carpeting in small areas, nothing beats the Dirt Devil Stick Vac Plus for a thorough removal of dirt and hair. With two speed settings, and a low price of only $75.00 this lightweight vacuum is a five star product.
