Cleanses and Liquid Diets Used by Celebrities

The Master Cleanse Diet: Celebrities such as Ginnifer Goodwin, Aisha Tyler, and Robin Quivers have used this diet to drop weight. Most notably, Beyonce Knowles used it to drop 20 pounds for her role in the movie Dreamgirls. The diet consists of drinking laxative tea at night and either another laxative tea in the morning or a “salt flush. Throughout the day you drink a mixture of organic squeezed lemon juice, water, grade B maple syrup, and cayenne pepper throughout the day. The entire caloric intake is between 600-1300 calories a day depending on how much of the drink you consume.

Gwyneth Paltrow’s post-holiday Cleanse. A creation of Dr. Alejandro Junger’s diet plan, Gwyneth is a former master cleanser herself, and she used this less restrictive cleanse. The diet consists of smoothies, organic foods like chicken and veggies and herbal laxatives. Counting calories is not necessary.

Kathy Freston’s Quantum Wellness. Endorsed and followed by Oprah, this 21 day vegan diet does not allow sugar, alcohol, caffeine, and gluten. The diet/cleanse also discourages you from counting calories and allows three meals and two snacks daily such as fruit parfaits and veggie wraps. The author promotes the advantages of giving up meat in favor of a healthy plant-based diet from an ethical, dietary, and environmental perspectives.
