Cheapest Vacation to Bora Bora

Bora bora is a small island in the French Polynesian islands; it’s rather small but boasts to be one of the most beautiful places on earth. Bora Bora is a major tourist dependent island which makes it one of the most expensive destinations as well but there are tricks and trades to use that can help you find a steal of a deal.

1) Airfare- unless you live somewhere with a non-stop flight service to Bora bora then you will be connection at least once but maybe a few times on your way, instead of booking it all with one site or airline, go with discount sites like jetblue or airtran to get you most of the way and look for dates and sales to get you the rest of the way. Leave your dates loose and flexible and you could save a few extra 100 on each flight. And make sure you book your flight in advance, as soon as you can.

2) Room and board- Bora bora is known for their breathtaking beaches and their trademark over water bungalows, so if you have to stay in one of these you’re prices will be a bit higher, but a deal can still be found, search sites like tripadvisers.com and hotels.com to see what people say about the bargain priced hotels so you don’t end up hating your vacation. If you’re a bit more flexible with where you stay then check out places like craigslist.com where people have rooms and or apartments for rent, daily, weekly, and even monthly rates, you can find a reasonable price and get the advantage of your own kitchen and sometimes things like a pool and hot tub. And if you’re really adventurous you can join a site called couchsurfers.com where people list themselves as hosts for travelers to stay, couches guest rooms, they list how many they can host, how many nights max and weather they have a couch, guest room or just some free floor space, you don’t pay a penny, but you get the added plus of a host, who know s the area and can sometimes even show you around a bit.

3) Food- if you are staying in a place with a kitchen then go to the grocery store and buy stuff for meals, and snacks, give yourself a few meals to eat out so you can get a taste of the culture but keep snacks with you at all times so you aren’t forced to eat somewhere, and look online for coupons or discount nights at local hot spots.

4) Activities- if you are lucky enough to connect with some locals then you can get a free tour and some fun free local activities, find out where the locals hang out and what is the most fun and cheapest things to do. If you don’t know any locals there are still plenty of ways to save on activities, bring along a bad mitten set, or another fun beach friendly game that transports well, make sure you have your camera and/or video camera and a good book or two. Prepare a picnic, rent a boat, go exploring.

5) Transportation- Bora bora is a very small island meaning that most places can be reached easily by bike or foot, and if you rent some bikes you’ve got another activity- go for a few long leisure rides and see what you can find. You’ll save money, and get exercise. And make sure you pack some good tennis shoes so you can walk comfortable from place to place.

6) Souvenirs- skip the tourist shops, and head for the grocery store, or any open air markets, you can even get a bottle or bag and fill it with sand- some sea shells and other nature stuff you can find lying around, and of course pictures! Make sure you don’t buy anything that’s just going to sit in a box somewhere, find something useful like a fun kitchen utensil or a hat for the beach.

Well I hope these tips have helped you in the planning of your trip- have fun and God bless
