Broccoli Bites by Veggie Patch Review

Veggie Patch’s Broccoli Bites with cheddar cheese are a great after-school snack for children as well as for big kids! I loved trying the Broccoli Bites Veggie Patch – crispy nuggets filled with broccoli and cheddar. Yum.

I love dipping the broccoli bites in the Tribe Origins hummus or in ranch dip, depending on my mood. Other great vegetarian, healthy after-school snacks include Amy’s Tofu Scramble and Amy’s Tamales.

I recommend adding Broccoli Bites to your back-to-school grocery shopping list.

Here are a few things I learned about Veggie Patch’s Broccoli Bites while reviewing the product:

No. 1: Veggie Patch’s Broccoli Bites with cheddar cheese are 100 percent vegetarian. They have no MSC, no trans fat.

No. 2: Veggie Patch’s Broccoli Bites with cheddar cheese’s ingredients include broccoli as the first ingredient which is awesome for parents trying to get their children to eat more vegetables! Other ingredients include cheddar cheese, egg whites, skim milk, spices, garlic, canola oil and wheat flour for the breading.

No. 3: Veggie Patch’s Broccoli Bites with cheddar cheese are a healthy after-school snack because a serving size, which is three bites or nuggets, is just 150 calories. Have your child dip the bites or nuggets in a healthy yogurt-based ranch dip.

No. 4: Veggie Patch’s Broccoli Bites with cheddar cheese contains four grams of fiber and only 2 grams of sugar. A serving includes 5 grams of protein. Double the serving and you have a meal. With 8 grams of fat, it’s ideal for a moderate-fat diet, which experts say could be better for long term weight loss.

No. 5: Veggie Patch’s Broccoli Bites with cheddar cheese contain Vitamin A, Calcium, Iron and Vitamin C.

Other vegetarian products by Veggie Patch include meatless meatballs, spinach nuggets, chick ‘n nuggets, meatless buffalo wings, corn bites, portabella bites and an assortment of meatless sausages and veggie dogs.

The Veggie Patch broccoli bites do contain wheat, which means they also contain gluten, so they are not appropriate for people on a gluten-free. They aren’t suitable for people on a dairy-free diet. However, if you don’t have any allergies or food sensitivities, I recommend the broccoli bites as a fun, healthy after-school snack or for a healthy lunch when you are at work.

Although you can microwave or bake the Veggie Patch Broccoli Bites, I prefer to heat them up on the stove in a little olive oil for a crispy treat.

For taste, I give the broccoli bites a five out of five stars. For nutrition, I give them a four out of five stars.
