Body Hair Removal for Men

Having body hair is a natural thing. Everybody has body hair, from the old man at the pool to the young teenager playing volleyball. Some of us have more of it than others. The thing is that body hair can oftentimes be very unpleasant and embarrassing, if not just plain annoying. I personally cannot stand my body hair. I trim the body hair on my chest, shoulders, and back at least twice a month. It is an annoying, but necessary process of self-maintenance. The worst is if you suffer from excessive body hair. Nobody wants to see a grizzly bear in the pool, if you know what I mean.

It is for these reasons that more and more men are discarding their ego in pursuit of male body hair removal. Men’s body hair removal was once considered taboo and emasculating. Nowadays, body hair removal for men is becoming a very commonplace activity. Men all over the world are waxing, shaving, and trimming their body hair so that they can show off their smooth, sheen bodies.

Many body hair removal methods are currently available. The simplest method is to just regularly trim your body hair. Although relatively simply, it is an ongoing process that must be repeated several times a month. Another option for male body hair removal is to just shave it all off. There are some problems to this method though. First, the hair tends to grow back thicker and darker. Second, it leaves the shaven area itchy and irritable for two to three days. Thankfully, there are many other at home body hair removal methods available.

The most popular at home male body hair removal products are Nair and Veet. These body hair removal gels contain acidic compounds that reach into the skin and destroy the hair’s connection to the body. You spread them on hairy areas, let it sit for 10 minutes, and then wash off the gel and hair. It must noted though that neither Nair nor Veet should be used on the genitals. The resulting pain can be quite unbearable. In fact, I have a story about male body hair removal involving Nair. My friend used it on his testicles and called me screaming, “IT HURTS SO BAD!” He ended up visiting the emergency room to get some prescription pain killers. Sad, but true story (rather hilarious too!).

Another option for body hair removal for men is a trip to a beauty salon for an old fashioned wax-job. The salon employees with pour hot, scathing wax over your body. Then they will rip it off with the help of some cloth. It is painful, but it works to remove body hair on men. Unfortunately, it can be somewhat costly. Costs range anywhere from $15 to $200, depending on how much hair you want removed.

The very best option for male body hair removal is through laser body hair removal. It is a permanent hair removal method that will leave you never having to worry about hair again. The problem is that laser body hair removal is extremely expensive. It can cost thousands of dollars, and insurance companies usually refuse to pay for it.

The last option for body hair removal for men is to just pluck each hair off. This is extremely painful and very irritating, but it works as well as waxing. The hair will take two to three months to grow back.
