Best Wedding Songs from 2009

Choosing the right wedding song is very important. It is important to choose a song which represents you the best as a couple for your first dance song. Here are ten of my personal favorite wedding song choices from 2010.

1. “Two is Better Than One” by Boys Like Girls

This song can make a beautiful first dance song. The lyrics to this 2009 song are, “So maybe it’s true / That I can’t live without you / And maybe two is better than one / But there’s so much time to figure out the rest of my life / And you’ve already got me coming undone / And I’m thinking two is better than one.” If you like the sound of boy band songs from the ’90’s, this could be the perfect wedding song for you.

2. “Never Gonna Be Alone” by Nickelback

Anyone who is a fan of the band Nickelback may want to think about choosing this as their first wedding dance song. The lyrics are, “You’re never gonna be alone from this moment on / If you ever feel like letting go, I won’t let you fall / You’re never gonna be alone, I’ll hold you till the hurt is gone.” This is likely how you feel about your future spouse.

3. “Halo” by Beyonce

Looking for a beautiful 2009 R&B; song for your first wedding dance song? This could be the perfect choice for you. Beyonce sings, “Everywhere I’m looking now / I’m surrounded by your embrace / Baby I can see your halo / You know you’re my saving grace.” If you want a song that will be a classic R&B; song, this is an excellent choice.

4. “All I Want” by Staind

If you are looking for a great 2009 rock song for your first dance, you may want to think about “All I Want.” Almost anyone who identifies themselves a fan of Staind will agree that this is an excellent wedding song choice. Aaron Lewis passionately belts out, “I can’t live without / All I think about / All I want is you / You’re all I dream about / I can’t live without / All I want is.”

5. “Lucky” by Jason Mraz featuring Colbie Caillat

For the right couple, this can be an excellent wedding song choice from 2009. Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat shine in this beautiful duet. They sing, “Lucky I’m in love with my best friend / Lucky to have been where I have been / Lucky to be coming home again / Lucky we’re in love in every way / Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed / Lucky to be coming home someday.” The song is a bit chipper, which is great if you don’t want any tears at your wedding reception.

These are just some of the excellent 2009 wedding song choices. If you are looking for a great wedding from 2009, consider checking out some of your favorite artists and what songs you may not have heard of from their CD’s.
