Best Larimer Square Restaurants in Denver: Samba Room

The Samba Room at 1460 Larimer Street, Denver Colorado, Phone 720-956-170, is one of the Denver restaurants that is located in Larimer Square, the area of downtown Denver that is the oldest part of the city. Reservations are recommend, which usually means they are almost a necessity. All it takes is a phone call and it can avoid either a big wait or a big disappointment. There is both on street parking and parking lots and garages throughout the area. The Samba Room is open for lunch to Saturday 11 AM to 4 PM, Dinner on Sunday 11Am to 10PM,Monday to Wednesday, 4 Pm to 11PM, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 4PM till Midnight.

The menu at The Samba Room is a mix of Spanish and American dishes. The lunch menu offers appetizers that range from Arepas – a Columbian dish for $6.95 to Maryland Blue Fin Carb Cakes for $10.95. The Tempura Coconut Shrimp for $9.95 is an interesting mix of oriental and Spanish. There are two choices for soup, Cuban Black Bean Soup for $5.95 or the soup of the day for $4.95. There are four choices for a salad, Grilled Chicken Salad for $8.95, Samba Caesar Salad for $6.95, House Salad for $5.95 and the Samba Cobb Salad for $11.95.

Samba has something special they call Latin Lunch Boxes, for instance the Puente which includes a cup of soup, Com Empanada, Cobb Salads, Skirt Steak and Sweet Endings for $12.95. There are two other choices, one with Salmon for $11.95 and one with Muffaletta for $10.95.

For a main course, there is the Burger Slider with a Spanish Flair for $10.95, Sandwiches such as the Palomiall – skirt steak- for $9.95 and entrees like the Cuban Blue Plate Special for $10.95.

Dinner at Samba has many of the same items at the same prices and some that are available for dinner only. For instance, the appetizers include an Empanada Sampler for $7.95 and the entrees include choices like Crispy Florida Red Snapper for $20.95 and Spanish Paella for $25.95.

Come early for dinner and start out with the Happy Hour, from 4 to 7 PM every day and enjoy certain drinks and wines at ½ price.

Notes on the Samba Room: The Samba Room is one of the Denver restaurants with a lounge, where you can enjoy some Latin music in a nice, relaxed atmosphere. The hours listed are for the restaurant, but the bar is open later. They also have on site catering for parties from 10 to 350. The wine list has over 70 choices, some are sold by the glass, some by the bottle and some either way. They will add on a 20% gratuity if your party consists of six or more. This is one of the busiest parts of Denver, a place where all the actions is and if you are a part of any of the action, The Samba Room is a great place for your meal break.
