Arlington’s Best Dinner and a Movie Experience

There are a lot of entertainment options in Arlington, Texas, however if you are wanting to do dinner and a movie then Studio Movie Grill in the Arlington Highlands is the place to go. With great food and drink as well as multiple shows, they strike a great balance between being family friendly and also drawing the adult crowd later in the evening.

The Experience:
When you dine at Studio Movie Grill you first purchase your ticket and receive a menu then head to your theater. Once inside you’ll find comfortable leather office chairs pulled up to bars or two person tables as opposed to the standard stadium seating. Simply press a button and your waiter will come to you and take your order. They serve a full range of menu options and a full range of options from the soda fountain as well as the bar. Even after the movie starts you can still place your order, the wait staff is very courteous about trying to stay out of the way of other patrons. They deliver your order to you while you watch and refills on sodas are complimentary. When the movie is getting close to the end they deliver your check in a little basket and come pick up your payment and return your receipt so that when the credits roll your tab is settled and you can move on to the next adventure.

Ticket Prices:
Adults (Sun-Thur after 6pm) $9
Adults (Fri/Sat after 6pm) $9.50
Matinee $7.50
Before Noon Matinee $5
Children (10 & Under) $6.50

They also offer Senior (55+) discount tickets at $8 and Students (with an ID) discount tickets at $7.50

However they often run specials so be sure to check out their website. As of when this article was written they were offering a coupon for 2 tickets at $6.35 each + 2 free sodas for signing up for their email newsletter.

Food:
The food prices are pretty standard for your average sit down restaurant in the area. A burger combo will be about $8-10 and a pizza is about the same. I must say that the food is restaurant quality food it’s several steps above the popcorn and chicken fingers that you find at most theaters. Personally I’m partial to the margarita pizza. There’s no alcohol, but the blend of flavors is quite tasty.

Specials:
The specials are probably the biggest thing that sets this theater apart from the rest in Arlington. On Saturdays they have special kids programming for only $2. They also host a ladies night out once a month where they show movies such as Devil Wears Prada or The Notebook for $1. Studio Movie Grill also has special nights where they show classic movies that everyone will like for $1. Also be sure to check out their Facebook and Twitter pages, I’ve gotten several great coupons for movies from their social networking sites.

Not only do they have deals on their movies, they also compound the fun with deals on food and drink. So check the specials on their website before you go to see what this weeks specials are. Sometimes they have margarita nights, endless pizza deals, or $2 off and burger nights.

Going to Studio Movie Grill is always a great experience so if you’re looking for more then just staring at a screen for two hours, this is the place to go.
