Apple Cider Vinegar for Bladder Infection

I had heard many times about the benefits of apple cider vinegar. In fact, the benefits sounded tremendous and real – and I even had a witness to the “cleansing” effect of apple cider vinegar from my own father. He drank a teaspoon of it every morning, claiming the good effects it has on the entire human body.

But I also remembered hearing from one of my friends that apple cider vinegar can help prevent bladder infection. Ok ok, that’s fine. But there are a lot of things you can do to prevent a bladder infection including cranberry juice and pills. What I want to know is can it CURE a bladder infection once you’ve already got it?

The answer is: YES!

I must admit, once I actually went through the process it was torture. Especially considering how painful my bladder infections are when I get them. I mean, I cry and curl up and can’t seem to do anything to get comfortable and end up running to Urgent Care every time!

And when that happens (the many times it has happened), of course they always put me on some antibiotic which I stay on for about a week. I always wondered what it was doing to my body, and as the years went on it seemed like I was getting resistant to their powers. But mostly concerned about my health, I knew I had to find another way to cope.

And so here is the method . . . (the tortuous method that you must endure! But it is worth it in the end!)

At FIRST sign on bladder irritation, begin flushing your body out with water. Drink a 16 oz glass down at once and as soon as you feel the urge to urinate, GO.

Every half hour or hour, drink another 8 oz glass of water.

Just keep in mind that every time you feel you need to go to the bathroom, do go because otherwise the bacteria has a better chance of growing and multiplying the longer you leave the urine in your bladder.

Once you get used to a regular routine of drinking water, urinating, drinking, urinating, begin to incorporate apple cider vinegar into your water. Add about 2 tablespoons each time you drink another cup of water. If it is too unpleasant, feel free to add some honey.

Eat as little food as you can, because you don’t want food in your stomach to begin absorbing that water that you need to cycle through your urinary tract as fast as it can.

Keep this routine up throughout the whole day, no matter how good you begin to feel or how difficult it becomes. Finish out the day and finish with one cider-water glass of water just as you lay down at night. You may want to set your alarm a couple times during the night so as to be sure you get up and empty your bladder.
