Wearing E.L.F’s Waterproof Eyeliner Pen

I first heard of E.L.F’s Waterproof Eyeliner Pen after watching a YouTube Haul Video. A ‘beauty-guru’ was raving about the wonderful experience she had using this eyeliner. She went on to say that when she first bought the product, the website declared the eyeliner was no longer in-stock. As a result, she stocked-up on the product sometime later to guard against not having the item available again when she most needed it. After hearing that testimonial, I decided to give ELF’s Waterproof Eyeliner a try and purchased my own product.

After my first application using the waterproof eyeliner, I was pleasantly impressed.
1. It came complete with a replaceable cover to protect the tip.
2. The tip was pointed but comfortably edged when glided on top of the eyelid or under the bottom lashes.
3. The tip allows one to apply a precise line around the eyes.
4. It sells for only $1 on the ELF website making it a confirmed bargain.
5. The eyeliner did last an entire day without signs of smudging. Also, a perfect solution when worn watching sad movies.
6. Once applied, the eyeliner dries quickly unlike other liquid eyeliners that are wetter upon application and can take a few minutes to fully dry.
7. Less messy than other liquid eyeliners. This is a great advantage for those who do not have a ‘steady’ hand when putting on eyeliner.

I continued to use the waterproof eyeliner daily and noticed a few disadvantages to the product.
1. After a little over 7 days of use, the fine tip was wearing down. Small threads were developing and the ‘felt’ was fraying.
2. The threads were interfering with the ability to make clean lines.
3. After 2 weeks of usage, the liner was drying out. Making strokes were taking a few seconds longer than when I first opened the eyeliner. I had to hold the tip against my eyelid longer to help milk the product out of the tip upon application.
4. After the 4th week of daily use, it was apparent that the product needed to be replaced due to the tip drying out. It could no longer make an adequate line without having to tug or apply excessive pressure on the eyelid.
5. Make-up remover was definitely required in order to completely clean the product off the skin.

Overall, I was pleased with Elf’s Waterproof Eyeliner. As long as I understood and had the expectation that the product wasn’t going to last forever, I was satisfied with the value and price of the product. It has been a year since my first encounter with Elf Waterproof Eyeliner. I have also stocked up on the pens to make sure I always have one ready to use. I even keep one in several different make-up bags for extra convenience.
