Try a Romantic Getaway at Mt. Haven Resort in Milford, Pennsylvania

If you’re looking for a romantic mid-week or weekend getaway, be sure to check out Mt. Haven Resort, located in Milford, PA (Pocono Mountains). My husband and myself have visited the resort on numerous occasions, and have never been disappointed. Mid-week is your best deal; around 130.00 a night you will get a gorgeous suite, cottage or villa plus dinner and breakfast for two. Naturally weekend rates are higher.

The rooms are, very nice, comfortable and clean; double bed, fireplace and mirrored jacuzzi. Of course there is a bathroom, plus TV, VCR and a refrigerator. The front desk has videos you can check out for free, not your top ten list, but I’m sure there’s something you could find.

What’s nice about this resort is they have different options you can add on to your cost, such as a bottle of wine, chilled champagne or a open bar at dinner (drinks aren’t included with dinner) so if your in the mood for a few adding the open bar on to your tab is a good idea. I have added both the champagne and open bar to our tab and it was well worth the price. We didn’t even get our bags fully unpacked and there was a knock on the door, outside was waiting 2 glass and a bottle of champagne on ice. It was a nice added touch to our time spent in the jacuzzi.

The restaurant atmosphere is fantastic; all of the staff we met on all of our stays were friendly and very accommodating. Your meal that is included in the cost consists of an all you can eat salad, bar, a pasta bar, which is cooked right in front of you. It has several different pasta and sauces we sampled the alfredo, and meat sauce both were awesome. They provide a full menu, with your choice of any entrée they offer. A lot of choices are on their menu, we choice filet mignon and stuffed lobster tail both were done to perfection.

I’m sure you won’t have a problem finding something to satisfy your taste buds, no matter what you choose I guarantee you’ll love it. Save room for dessert you’ll have your choice of ice cream, frozen yogurt or cake.

Also included is a full breakfast in the morning, a wide variety; made to order omelets, eggs, pancakes or French toast. Once again both my husband and myself were very satisfied with the choices and the breakfast.

The dining room has a small bar attached with stools and tables. I’m not sure of the exact closing time, they don’t really have a set hour I believe they judge by the crowd, if they will stay open later or close earlier.

I would definitely recommend Mt. Haven, like us I’m sure you’ll enjoy the resort and want to return time and time again. It’s really a cute resort that’s perfect for a romantic getaway with that special person in your life.
