Top 5 Campgrounds Near Pocono International Raceway in Long Pond, PA

Are you a NASCAR fan who’s planning a trip to the Pocono International Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsylvania, this year? If so, you may want to consider staying at one of the campgrounds in the area. Some of them offer wonderful amenities like shuttles to the raceway and a chance to spend the night trackside. Here’s a rundown on five of the campgrounds that should be on your radar:

1. Star Coach Race Tours

Die hard NASCAR fans won’t want to pass up a chance to spend the night at the raceway. Star Coach Race Tours offers onsite motor coach rentals. They have packages that include use of the motor home, meals, airport transfers and tickets to the race. There are tent camping packages as well. Of course prices vary. You may expect to pay at least $125 and a minimum length of stay is sometimes in effect. Advance reservations are required and should be made as far in advance as possible to avoid disappointment. Space tends to go very quickly.

2. WT Family Camping

If you aren’t quick enough to grab a camping space at the raceway, there is always WT Family Camping on Route 115 in Blakeslee. It is roughly a 15 minute drive from the racetrack. The campground offers full hook-up sites as well as a heated pool, miniature golf, camp store and playgrounds. Daily rates start at $40 a night and a two night minimum length of stay policy is in effect on race weekends. Advance reservations are definitely needed.

3. Mount Pocono Campground

Mount Pocono Campground is also located approximately 15 minutes away from the raceway. It sits on Edgewood Road in Mount Pocono. You can bring your own recreational vehicle or rent one onsite. Tent campsites are also available. Campground amenities include a heated pool, an entertainment center, camp store, playground and access to raceway shuttle services. The raceway shuttle services are offered by Destination Pocono. The company also offers an ultra cool stock car racing experience. If you sign up for it, you’ll get to drive a real SPRINT Cup style stock car around the track. A three night minimum length of stay is required on race weekends and prices start at $35 a night.

4. Hemlock Campground and Cottages

Hemlock Campground and Cottages is located on Hemlock Drive in Tobyhanna. It will typically take you 15 to 20 minutes to get there from the raceway depending on the traffic. You may opt to rent a RV site, tent site, cabin or cottage. A three night minimum length of stay policy is generally in effect on race weekends. Rates start at $36 for a campsite, $87 for a cabin and $111 for a cottage. Campground amenities include a swimming pool, camp store, recreation hall and play areas.

5. Pocono Vacation Park Campground

The Pocono Vacation Park Campground is located 30 minutes from the raceway. It is a very large campground and sits on Shafer School House Road in Stroudsburg. Rates start at $29 a night and amenities include a camp store and a recreation hall. Advance reservations are strongly suggested and a minimum length of stay policy is in effect during select periods of the year.
