Top 10 NBA Players Born in Arkansas

When you think of NBA talent you don’t often think of Arkansas but there are actually quite a number of successful NBA players that have played there. Arkansas is home to a number of players that have went on to be stars in the NBA and here is a list of the top 10 to have played in the NBA and where they were born.

1. Scottie Pippen- Scottie Pippen is one of the 50 greatest players of all time and has been a bright spot for the state of Arkansas. Pippen played alongside Michael Jordan and won multiple championships and is number one from Arkansas after finishing his career in 2004 after 17 NBA seasons. Pippen wrapped up his career with averages of 16.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game. Pippen was born in Hamburg Arkansas.

2. Joe Johnson- Johnson has played in the NBA since 2002 and began his career in the shadow of many stars on the Phoenix Suns, after being traded to the Hawks he has blossomed as a star and has averages of 16.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game. Johnson was born in Little Rock Arkansas.

3. Joe Barry Carroll- Carroll played in the NBA from 1981-1991 posted averages of 17.7 points and 7.9 rebounds per game. Carroll was born in Pine Bluff and had a solid NBA career both scoring and hitting the glass.

4. Archie Clark- Clark was born in Conway Arkansas and had a 10 year NBA career from 1967-1976. Clark finished his career with averages of 16.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game.

5. Sidney Moncrief- Sidney began his NBA career in 1980 and finished in 1991 after 12 NBA seasons. Sidney was from Little Rock and averaged 15.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game.

6. Fat Lever- Lever posted good averages across the board with 13.9 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game. Lever, from Pine Bluff played in the NBA from 1983-1994.

7. Eddie Miles- Miles who was born in North Little Rock had career averages of 13.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game. Miles NBA career began in 1964 and ended in 1972.

8. Bryant Reeves- Reeves was a force down low during his 6 seasons in the NBA. Reeves, who was from Fort Smith had career totals of 12.5 points and 6.9 rebounds per game.

9. Ron Brewer- Ron Brewer played in the NBA from 1979-1986 and was also born in Fort Smith. Brewer finished his career by averaging double figures with 11.9 points per game.

10. Wil Jones- Jones was born in Mcgehee and went on to the NBA where he averaged 11.7 points and 7.7 rebounds per game during his NBA career which spanned from 1970 to 1978.
