To Daddy, Love Your Little Girl: a Father’s Day Poem

You taught me what patience meant…
and how to stand up for those that I love.
You told me I was heaven sent…
a beautiful gift from up above.

I say you’re the best gift, I have ever been given…
sent from the Lord high above.
A wonderful gift straight from heaven…
sent to teach me all about love.

I want you to know what your love has meant…
how you’ve given me courage to face all the world.
I want you to know that the strength you lent…
has helped me through times of turmoil.

I want you to know you taught me to live, to hope, to dream, to see…
and wherever I go, no matter how far, you’re little girl, I’ll always be.
