The Palm Restaurant is a Denver restaurant where people, including celebrities, go to see and be seen. It is one of those few restaurants that you hear about that puts caricatures of celebrities and well-known cartoon characters on the wall. Celebrities such as Jackie Gleason, Francis Ford Coppola and Mitch Miller along with cartoon icons Beetle Bailey, Popeye and Batman adorn the walls of the various restaurants. The New York Palm Restaurant alone has each of its walls insured for ½ million dollars.

The Palm Restaurant began as an Italian restaurant and was dubbed “Palm” when the owners, from Parma, Italy, could not speak English well and “Parma” came out “Palma”. However, as businessmen requested steaks, the restaurant moved its fare to meet the desires of its clientele.

The Palm Restaurant is located at The Westin Tabor Center, 1672 Lawrence Street, Denver, Colorado 80202. The phone number is 303-825-7256.

As I said, to give a complete description of this wonderful Denver restaurant would take a short book. In addition to the food and history described, The Palm Restaurant has a special spring menu available through May 31st; The Palm Restaurant offers a private internal club called “The 837 Club” which, once again emanated from New York as a privilege and benefit to regular customers, and, The Palm Restaurant offers a signature dish three-pound lobster at market value in which they have proven that large lobster does not have to be tough.
