Schools are getting ready to wind down in Cincinnati, Ohio and summer vacation is just around the corner. To keep your kids busy this summer, look into one of Cincinnati’s many day camps sponsored by non-profit organizations. Kids will have hands on experiences and so much fun, they might even forget that they’re learning.

Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden

The Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden is one of Cincinnati’s much loved family day destinations. If you’ve got a child age 4 to 14 who really loves the zoo and animals, then the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden’s summer camp might be perfect for them. The Cincinnati Zoo offers 6 programs in 4 age groups each focusing on a different aspect of the Cincinnati Zoo and its animals. Learning about animals has reached a whole new level with The Cincinnati Zoo’s programs. It’s more than just animal facts, kids can participate in classes where they can do everything from study zoo careers, design a toy for animal playtime and even develop their own 90 second radio spot about wildlife. Each week long Cincinnati Zoo day camp program is available multiple times throughout the summer.

Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park

Does your child lean to the dramatic? Let them channel their creative energy at the Tony Award Winning Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park’s acting summer camp. The Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park has programs designed for children of all ages, from 5 years old through high school. From improvisational acting to musical theatre, kids will have a ton of fun while learning about the theatre arts, all inside Cincinnati’s largest professional theater. The Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park’s summer camp programs are a week long and are offered all through the summer.

Wyoming Center for the Arts

The Wyoming Center for the Arts has been a first class community center for years, and the summer camps they offer to kids are some of the coolest in town. Besides the usual music, dance and acting camps, they offer courses for 7-17 year olds that focus on rock and roll, from the instruments to the image to the digital recording process. Kids in the School of Rock camp will be placed together with other kids of similar age and musical interests to form a band where they will receive music and vocal coaching, songwriting lessons and perform in a concert at the end of the camp. If you’re child isn’t into music, Wyoming Center for the Arts offers summer camps for them as well.
