The Bible Works software includes one hundred and twelve Bible translations, fourteen original language texts, and a multitude of dictionaries, lexicons, diagrams, and maps. All of these features alone make the Bible software well worth the price. However, you will also receive free training videos, technical support, and they even offer live training with an instructor. Due to the size of the program, there is no demonstration version to download. However, there is a thirty day money back guarantee, and if you are not satisfied with the product after thirty days, simply return it.
I do understand that not everybody has $350.00 lying around to buy Bible study software, so I will offer you a free alternative. E-Sword is a free Bible study software program which offers many features comparable to the Bible Works software. It is a little more difficult to setup, however, once it is setup it is simple to use. The software has really come a long way since it inception and includes many of the features that you would expect from retail software. It offers many translations of the Bible, as well as lexicons, dictionaries, commentary, and of course, the ever popular maps and diagrams.
The truly great thing about this free Bible software is that it is modular. This means that you only have to use those features that you want. If you only want the King James Version of the Bible, then you only need to install the Kings James Version and you can leave out all of the other stuff. The other great feature that this particular software offers is the ability to create your own version of the Bible side by side. This is a great resource if perhaps you have a hard time with the Kings James version, yet are leery of other Bible translations.
When all is said and done I would have to give Bible Works software a 9 out of 10 rating. However, I would give E-Sword Bible software a 10 out of 10; simply due to the fact that the E-Sword software is free and offers many features which will help anyone study the word of God.
