The Benefit Bathina Shower Cap

Like many women, whenever I don’t feel like washing my hair, I use a shower cap, or bath cap. I used to use the disposable clear plastic kind like you get for free when you stay at a motel. When I decided to upgrade from that, I bought a Goody terry cloth and plastic shower cap from the drug store. That one worked fine, but then within a few months I realized it was actually growing mildew. Yuck. I tossed it and decided I was going to go upscale.

When shopping around, I found out that the Benefit Cosmetics line carries shower caps. When I saw how cute they were, I knew I had to have one. I looked everywhere. It was right before Christmas and everyone was sold out. Would you believe I had to put my name on a waiting list and give the girl at the Benefit counter at Macy’s my cell phone number, just in order to get a shower cap? It’s a true story.

Ladies, this shower cap was totally worth the wait. And the $14 too. There are so many things I love about it, I don’t even know where to begin. Okay, I’ll start with how cute it is.

Cuteness
As women, we deserve to be bathing beauties, and that is exactly what this Benefit Bathina shower cap allows us to be. It is a pink satin, decorated with tiny bath bubbles, and a repeat pattern of a 1950s style pin up girl in a bathing suit. There are also little pink flowers, and high heeled slippers dotted all over the cap. The word “Bathina” is also written sporadically on the cap in mauve script. The bottom of the cap is ruffled and hemmed with a thick mauve stitching.

Quality
But is isn’t only about the cuteness. The Benefit Bathina shower cap is made very well. It is a water-proof satin on the outside, and a plastic on the inside. This is perfect, because since it is not cotton, it does not hold water. Thus, it does not get moldy like my previous shower cap. I have been using it for four months now, and it still looks brand new.

It Works
Did I mention how roomy the Benefit Bathina shower cap is? There is plenty of room for lots of thick hair piled on top of your head. But if you have short hair, don’t worry. The elastic is tight enough to fit snugly around your head. That way, it does not allow water to get in. It works perfectly.

I am a huge fan of the Benefit Bathina shower cap. Even if there were many competitors on the market, which, by the way, there aren’t (new niche business, anyone?), I would still buy the Benefit bathing cap.
