Television Series Medium Cast Biographies

The television series known as “Medium” is a one hour crime drama revolving around a wife and mother who is a medium and works with the district attorney’s office to help solve cases. The series is based on real life medium, Allison DuBois.

Patricia Arquette

Arquette the actress who plays “Allison DuBois” on the television series, “Medium” was born on April 8, 1968 in Chicago, Illinois. Arquette comes from a family of actors. Her late father Lewis was a well known actor along with her grandfather, Cliff. Arquette’s siblings, Rosanna, Richmond, David and Alexis are all in the acting business. Brother David is married to actress Courteney Cox of “Friends” fame.

Arquette started her acting career during the 80’s with her film debut in “A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors. Arquette became known for her roles in films such as, “The Indian Runner” (1991), “True Romance” (1993), “Ed Wood” (1994), “Beyond Rangoon” (1995), “Flirting with Disaster” (1996), “Lost Highway” (1997), “Lost Highway” (1997), “Stigmata” (1999) and “Bringing Out the Dead” (1999). In 2005, Arquette began starring as the lead in the television series, “Medium”. In 2005, Arquette won an Emmy for the series. She won Golden Globe nominations for the years 2006 and 2007. The series just ended it’s third season and is picked up for a fourth season.

In 1989, Arquette gave birth to son Enzo whose father is musician Paul Rossi. In 1995, Arquette married actor Nicolas Cage but the six year marriage was short lived. In 2006, Arquette married for the second time to actor Thomas Jane. The couple had a daughter in 2003.

Jake Weber

Weber the actor who plays “Joe DuBois” on the television series, “Medium” was born on March 19, 1964 in London, England. Weber attended Summerhill School in Leiston, Suffolk, England and Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont where he earned a BA. He also studied at The Juilliard School in New York.

Weber has starred in films such as, “Born on the Fourth of July” (1989), “The Pelican Brief” (1993), “Amistad” (1997), “Dangerous Beauty” (1998), “Meet Joe Black” (1998), “Pushing Tin” (1999), “U-571” (2000), “The Cell” (2000), “Dawn of the Dead” (2004) and “Haven” (2004). Television work include “Law & Order” (1990), “NYPD Blue” (1996), “American Gothic” (1995-1996), “The $treet” (2001) and “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” (2001). In 2005, Weber began playing husband to Arquette’s character on the television series, “Medium” which earned him a Satellite Award nomination that same year. Weber as also appeared on stage debuting on Broadway in 1992. Weber is currently married to Elizabeth Carey and the couple had a daughter in 2006.

Miguel Sandoval

Sandoval the actor who plays, “D.A. Manuel Devalos” on the television series, “Medium” was born on November 16, 1951 in Washington, D.C. Sandoval started his acting career in 1975. Television debut was in 1982 with “Voyagers!” and more work followed including, “Remington Steele” (1984), “Hunter” (1984), “Matlock” (1990), “L.A. Law” (1992), “NYPD Blue” (1994), “Home Improvement” (1996), “Seinfeld” (1997, 1998), “Frasier” (1998), “ER” (1999), “The X-Files” (2001), “The West Wing” (2001) and “Alias” (2001). Film work includes, “Sid and Nancy” (1986), “Jurassic Park” (1993), “Clear and Present Danger” (1994), “Panic” (2000), “Blow” (2001) and “Nine Lives” (2005). In 2005, Sandoval began starring on the television series, “Medium” which earned nominations for an Imagen Award in 2005 and an Alma Award in 2007.
