Teen Party Games for New Year’s Eve

Many times, teens feel like they are left out of the loop for New Years Eve parties. They are too young to feel welcomed at adult parties. They are too old for children’s parties. This article will give you three games that teens can enjoy and some other ideas, as well.

New Moon Trivia: This game will take work on the part of the writer. A great way to do this is by watching the movie and making notes throughout. Have about twenty questions in relation to the show. You will also need one or two questions that are very hard to answer. It will be these questions that might determine the winner. Have the teens either pair up or go as a battle of the sexes. Provide paper and pen and space them out, throughout the room. If you goes boys versus girls, make sure there is distance between them, to keep the game fair.

Indoor Golf: For this activity, you need nine tin cans, nine golf balls, and nine putters. You can borrow the balls and putters from friends. Use index cards as scorecards. Strategically place the cans through out the house. Also have start points for each hole/can. Make the course very challenging. Place a can at the bottom of some steps and have them start at the top. Place a can under a bed, bookshelf, along a wall and up a ramp (book cover). Make the course as challenging as you can. Start a teen at a different hole and have them play the 9 hole course twice for a total of 18 holes. You can give prizes to the lowest scores.

Body Puzzle: In this game, start with an even number of players 6 or 8. Later you can try an odd number. Gather the teens into a circle. They will be facing someone across from them. With their right hands, they reach across and shake the person’s hand across from them. With their left hand, reach under or next to them and grasp the left hand of a different player. The object, of the game, is to make a circle without breaking or dropping hands. Teens will have to work together to figure out who goes under, over or through. This will take sometime to do. The more individuals involved, the longer it will take. If you have two groups, have them compete against each other. This game is a good mixer, for the start of the evening.

Other ideas: Have the teens come in Togas. They can wear swim suits are shorts and t-shirts underneath. Have them dress in a Hawaiian style clothing or a Jimmy Buffett style. Another idea is to have them dress up as Western characters. You want them to have fun, but be as informal as you can.

Finally, always have a modern video as a back up, if they get tired.
