Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing – Dallas, TX Production

For the second time the Dallas Children’s Theater is producing Seattle Children’s Theater’s 1986-87 stage adaptation of Judy Blume’s Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing through Oct. 28th. (Source: Dallas News).

“Judy Blume is thrilled, if a bit overwhelmed that her book is as popular as ever as it hits its 35th anniversary in a brand-new, updated edition,” reports the Dallas paper. “‘Tales’ was inspired by a newspaper clipping her babysitter brought her about a little boy who swallowed a turtle, and her own son, Larry, who was apparently quite a Fudgelike toddler, with a predilection for tantrums and sucking his fingers.”

At first, she submitted the story as a picture book, according to research.

In unrelated event news, the Life Bark/Life Walk at Lee Park will begin at 1 p.m. at Turtle Creek and Lemmon in Dallas Oct. 14th. The annual event is a gorgeous scenic 3.2 mile walk that supports family and friends living with HIV/AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) in that city.
