Summer Camp Jobs in California

Whiskeytown National Recreation Area located in Northern California will be accepting applications for summer camp jobs. Currently there are 6 positions open for this eight week program that starts June 9th and ends on August 1. The duties include trail maintenance, building fences, repairing bridges, and lake shore clean-up. Anyone between the ages of 15 and 18 may apply. Applications are available at the career counseling offices of Shasta, Foothill, Enterprise, West Valley, Central Valley, Anderson, and Bishop Quinn high schools. These positions pay 8$ an hour and participants will mainly be working outdoors. This is a great opportunity for teenagers to step into the work environment, while learning responsibilities, ethics, and getting acquainted with the environment.

Hidden Villa also has positions available for farm, health care, kitchen staff, residential counselors. Hidden Villa is a unique camp experience where the students learn to spin wool, milk cows, live sustainably. It also has backpacking, campfires, storytelling, and other outdoor activities. This summer camp is located in Los Altos, California. To apply for these positions you must be at least 18 years old, have a positive attitude, be a team player, and enjoy working with youth. Positions start out at $275 a week depending on experience, cabin, camp housing, and meals. A commitment starting June 7th to August 16th is pertinent in order to apply for these jobs. Camp Mariastella has openings for camp counselors. Summer camp counselors are responsible for supervision and guidance of campers and participation in camp activities including swimming, hiking, cooking out, arts and crafts, nature, etc. This is an entry level position. In order to apply you must have a high school diploma or equivalent. The position lasts for the summer season starting in late June through to the third week in August. Salary ranges from $1,200 to $1,500 (yearly salary). This summer camp is located in Wrightwood, Ca. Camp Oakes located in Big Bear City, California is looking for summer camp staff to facilitate programs for youth throughout the summer. They are also looking for instructors in several different areas ranging from Archery to Lifeguards. Staff will be cross trained in different areas. In order to apply you must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Camp Oakes offers paid training, room and board, and pay increases for returning staff.
