St. Patrick’s Day Family Events in NYC


Whether you are planning to attend the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade on 5th Avenue or eating a traditional Irish lunch at a pub restaurant, New York City is a great place to visit for St. Patrick’s Day. Since St. Patrick’s Day is on a Sunday this year, there will be plenty of fun events happening throughout that entire weekend in New York City. Here is a list of St. Patrick’s events that your entire family will enjoy.

The Second Annual Sober St. Patrick’s Day Event will take place on Saturday, March 16th from 3 to 6 p.m. at Regis High School located on 60 East 85th Street in Manhattan. This event will feature live music and dance performances including the Niall O’Leary School of Irish Dance. This sober and family friendly program will also honor people working to improve the lives of family members affected by alcoholics and addicts. Tickets can be purchase on their web site.

Cititbabes, a family membership club, will host a St. Patrick’s Day Party on Saturday, March 16th from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at 52 Mercer Street in lower Manhattan. This event will include live music and cupcake decorating for the kids. Before the event, tickets can be purchase for $25.00 and for $35.00 on the day of the event through their web site.

The Irish Arts Center located on 553 West 51st Street in Manhattan, will present an afternoon of Irish music, arts and crafts and films. The event will be held on St. Patrick’s Day from noon to 5 p.m. The Irish Arts Center provides a variety of programs, exhibits and events celebrating Irish culture in New York City.

If you have young children, take them to the Children’s Museum of Manhattan’s St. Patrick’s Day celebration. On Sunday, March 17th, children can create an art mural and a shamrock collage. There will also be a live Irish step dancing show performed by Darrah Carr Dance. The museum is located at 212 West 83rd Street in Manhattan. The cost per ticket is $11.00 for adults and children. The ticket cost for seniors is $7.00 and free for children under 12 months.
