Speed Stick Aqua Sport Gel Deodorant

During an extensive workout in a gym, or after a ten mile run, you are going to sweat in even the most comfortable of conditions. There’s just no way to avoid it, and while its a physical response to intense activity, it can cause an unsavory aroma that just wafts in the air around you. Do you want to be confused with “Pepe La Pew” of cartoon fame, or do you want to get rid of those sweaty odors? A lot of deodorants promise to prevent or make odors associated with sweating going away, but some are better than others. I’ve used a variety of products, some of them of the premium cologne category, and others of the drugstore type. These have led to mixed results, but one that I can fully recommend is Speed Sticks Aqua Sport Gel.

Unlike Speed Stick’s regular sticks, that leave white chalky messes, the clear gel just disappears completely after application. All you have to do is remove the safety foil, turn the knob at the bottom, and the gel just oozes out of the top. Thankfully there’s a screen of holes that prevents disasters, such as the Louisiana Gulf dilemma from happening, so that you’ll only get the necessary amount of deodorant needed. The Aqua Sport Gel just glides right on, whether you are a sweaty mess or as dry as a cactus. I love that applying it is just so simple, and I’ve noticed no stain marks on clothes or elsewhere, and thankfully there’s been no skin irritation at all. In fact, I would say that it actually softens up the skin a bit, almost soothing the pores.

One of the main reasons I like this deodorant stick, is that its scent will mix well with anything cologne. It’s a sporty scent obviously, but you can mix it with something fancy like Burberry, or just wear some citrus and athletic type of cologne like Nautica Sport. Its scent is a bit strong at the beginning, but it becomes much more subtle in under five minutes, as it goes to fight the scents associated with physical fitness. There’s a bit of citrus notes, but the overall scent is very masculine. I actually wish they made a cologne of this product, because while it is a bit laid back, it would be perfect for everyday usage.

You can get this three ounce package anywhere. There are a lot of on line deals, but you can find it at drugstores for around $2.50-$3.00 each. These last a couple of weeks for workout warriors, so that’s a fine value alone, but for most each one will last three weeks to a month. I think this is a major improvement over cheap quality deodorants years ago, and love the scent and lack of white marks around the underarms area. Its a fine choice for anyone, but those who are really into fitness, will appreciate how it prevents and destroys odors associated with a lot of exercise. Active ingredients include Aluminum Zirconium, and Tetrachlorohydrex Gly 18%, which is an antiperspirant.
