Simple Father’s Day Breakfast Recipes

Any special dad would love to wake up to the sweet scent of cinnamon with a faint hint of vanilla on Father’s Day! If you’re looking for delicious breakfast recipes to show the fathers in your life that you care, then keep reading. Try homemade French toast with banana glaze, chocolate chip pancakes, or eggs benedict to thank the special fathers in your life. Don’t forget to add the secret ingredient for each recipe – lots of love!

French Toast with Banana Glaze

Ingredients – Serves 2 hungry dads!

6 slices thick Texas Toast
2 ½ cups milk
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1 ½ tsp cinnamon
3 eggs
Equal parts 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water
1 tbsp banana extract
2 ripe bananas
Cooking spray

Recipe

1. Heat a frying pan on medium-high.

2. Combine eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Whisk together.

3. Dip each slice of thick Texas toast in the egg mixture. Be sure to coat the entire slice.

4. Spray the frying pan with cooking spray.

5. Place each slice into the pan. Cook for 3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.

6. Pour water in a pot and bring to about a rolling boil. Add sugar and whisk together until sugar is dissolved.

7. Add banana extract. Slice 1 banana and add to mixture. Continue to heat until syrup thickens. Turn off heat as soon as it begins to boil.

8. Slice remaining banana and top French toast slices.

9. Pour syrup over French Toast and bananas.

10. Serve with bacon, sausage, or ham!

Healthy Substitutions

1. Serve with fresh fruit of your choice instead of meat.

Chocolate Chip Pancakes

Ingredients – 4 pancakes

Pancake mix
1 cup chocolate chips

Recipe

1. Follow directions on pancake mix to make 4 pancakes.

2. Once pancake batter has been placed in a frying pan, add ¼ cup chocolate chips to each pancake.

3. When the pancakes begin to bubble on top, flip them and reduce heat.

4. Top with powered sugar, whipped cream, or syrup and serve!

Eggs Benedict

Ingredients – Serves 2 hungry dads!

4 eggs
2 quarts water
2 English Muffins
1 can hollandaise sauce
2 dashes paprika

Recipe

1. Prepare hollandaise sauce according to directions on can

2. Bring water to a simmer in a pot.

3. Toast English muffins.

4. Open 2 eggs at a time and place in bowl – keep yolks whole.

5. Add both eggs into the simmering water.

6. Use a slotted spoon to move eggs gently without breaking yolk so they do not stick to the pot.

7. Once egg whites are fully cooked and not translucent use the slotted spoon to carefully remove the eggs without breaking the yolks. Place on top of toasted English muffin.

8. Repeat steps 4 – 7 with remaining 2 eggs.

9. Top with hollandaise sauce. Sprinkle eggs with paprika.

10. Serve with home fries and fresh fruit!
