Review of “Ring Snuggies” Ring Adjuster

I found rave reviews for the “Ring Snuggies” ring adjuster product, designed as a little clear tube with a slit in it to apply to a too-loose ring after it’s already on the finger to make the ring fit tighter so it doesn’t slip around and fits snugly. I purchased my assorted pack and original pack combo from Amazon.com for around $6, with a total of around $12 including shipping. What a waste of money.

First of all, the “Ring Snuggies” are not a soft, pliable rubbery tool that I expected them to be. Instead, they feel like a hard plastic, and are so thick and long I can’t imagine them being comfortable. In fact, I couldn’t even get the “Ring Snuggies” on my engagement ring without taking my engagement ring off, and had to slide my fingernail into the super-tight slit to open it up wide enough to actually slide my ring band through.

After chipping my nails and finally getting the “Ring Snuggies” on my engagement ring, I noticed 2 issues. One, since I had to take my ring off my finger to get the “Ring Snuggies” on, I couldn’t slip the ring back over my knuckle, which is why I bought the “Ring Snuggies” to begin with. My knuckles are way huger than my actual finger, so even though I have to jam my engagement ring over my knuckle to get it on, it’s still too big on my finger. Since the “Ring Snuggies” are too stiff to fit on my engagement ring without taking my ring OFF to pry the sucker on there to begin with, how the hell am I supposed to get my ring back on?

The other issue I ran into is that the “Ring Snuggies” tube is too long, and extended beyond the band into the actual diamonds, so it could be seen bulging out of the ring. I tried cutting the tube with scissors to no avail. It’s that bulky and stiff. Plus, the “Ring Snuggies” only stayed on for about 32 seconds before it popped off again, and it took me over 15 minutes and finally using a pen to pry open the slit to actually fit my ring into it.

I don’t see how in the hell anyone could get the “Ring Snuggies” on their ring while it is already on their finger when you have to use brute force to actual slip the bugger on there, let alone tolerate the stiff, hard, plastic of the ring adjuster itself. I was so frustrated from chipping my nails, popping the “Ring Snuggies” off (I used many of the various tubes- all failed), and having my ring look ridiculous even with the “Ring Snuggies” on that I went back to the band aid that I’ve been wrapping around my ring to keep it snug. At least the band aid is not easily visible and a cheaper, more comfortable solution.

Don’t waste your money on the “Ring Snuggies”. In fact, I am going to go back to the jewelers and suck it up and get my ring sized down again for the third time and just deal with tearing the crap out of my knuckles to get my ring on and off. Or I’ll just stick to using the band aid method, which hasn’t failed me yet.
