Review of Hasbro’s Playskool Charlie Coal the Talking Grill

The Playskool Charlie Coal The Talking Grill by Hasbro is a great seasonal gift for the spring. Even better news for you parents out there though, it’s an indoor toy so it will get used all year long. Hasbro’s Playskool Charlie Coal The Talking Grill allows kids from ages six months to six years the opportunity to pretend that they are just like “daddy” grilling dinner for the family. As with many toys with that large an age range, it’s probably best for those in the middle. After seeing Hasbro’s Playskool Charlie Coal The Talking Grill in action, I would recommend it more for two to four year olds. Older children will probably be more interested in cooking toys that are more complex and find the phrases “corny.

So, what comes in the box of Hasbro’s Playskool Charlie Coal The Talking Grill? An awful lot, but then again it does retail for close to $50 so I would expect a lot for that price. “Charlie”, which is the talking grill has 50 phrases that he says when he is touched with utensils or food. His eyes also react as well. To give your child something to do with Charlie Coal The Talking Grill, there are plenty of accessories all made of plastic. These include bottles of ketchup and mustard, a spatual, buns for both hamburger and hot dogs, a hamburger, a hot dog, and a fork. All of these extras make Hasbro’s Playskool Charlie Coal The Talking Grill easy to play with for your child and very self explanatory, at least for the most part.

If you get your Playskool Charlie Coal The Talking Grill made by Hasbro home and find out you are not hearing enough different phrases, there is probably a reason. I noticed if you leave it on the demo mode you will only hear eight different phrases. So, make sure you have it switched out of demo mode and you will hear all 50. Being made of plastic, Charlie Coal The Talking Grill is actually very sturdy. It is definitely designed for children though as the phrases which are activated by touch will be viewed as corny by most adults. The good news as I mentioned above though is that there are 50 different phrases, so at least you won’t be hearing the same phrase every time from Charlie Coal The Talking Grill.

With spring arriving this is a great seasonal toy. Your child can pretend like they are grilling while mom or dad are outside cooking on the grill. The great news for you parents though is that this doesn’t have to be a seasonal toy. It is used indoors, so your child can enjoy it year round. The price is a little high though, and I wouldn’t recommend purchasing it at the $50 retail price. Wait for it to go sale for at least 30 percent off and you’ll get a great toy at a reasonable choice for your toddler.
